Maoershan Forest Farm was determined as a National Forest Park in 1996, covering an area of 26400 hectares. The vegetation in the forest farm belongs to Changbai Mountain flora, which is a typical natural secondary forest area in the eastern mountainous area of Northeast China. The original zonal climax community is Korean pine broad-leaved forest.
