Lin'an District Lin'an district is under the jurisdiction of Hangzhou City, located in the west of Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province. It is located in Tianmu Mountain Area in Northwest Zhejiang Province, adjacent to Yuhang District in the East, Fuyang District, Tonglu County and Chun'an County in the south, Shexian County in Anhui Province in the west, Anji County, Jixi County and Ningguo City in Anhui Province in the north. Lin'an district is about 100 kilometers wide from east to west and 50 kilometers long from north to south, with a total area of 3118.77 square kilometers. It has jurisdiction over 5 streets, 13 towns and 298 administrative villages. The District People's government is located in Jincheng Street.
On September 26, 2018, Lin'an District won the title of "China's natural oxygen bar" in 2018. In 2018, Lin'an District achieved a GDP of 53.963 billion yuan, an increase of 7.2% over the previous year at comparable prices.

Historical evolution
In 1129, the Southern Song Dynasty paid tribute to Qian Hongfu, the grandson of Qian Fu, the king of Wu and Yue, for his contribution to the Song Dynasty and his contribution to Hangzhou. In the eighth year of Shaoxing in the Southern Song Dynasty (1138), the capital was set in Lin'an prefecture (Hangzhou). Lin'an district is a combination of Lin'an, Yuqian and Changhua. Before the Han Dynasty, the three counties had no organizational system.
Lin'an was Yuhang County of Kuaiji County in Qin and Han Dynasties. In the 16th year of Jian'an (211 years) of Eastern Han Dynasty, it was divided into Yushui county and Gaole county. In the first year of Taikang (280), Emperor Wudi of Jin Dynasty changed its name to Lin'an County and subordinate to Wuxing county.
In the second year of Yuanfeng (109 BC), Emperor Wu of the Western Han Dynasty set up Danyang County, led by Yuqian County, and renamed Yuqian County in the Eastern Han Dynasty. Changhua belongs to Yuqian county. Lin'an and Yu Qian (including Changhua) belonged to Wuxing County in Jin Dynasty, and Hangzhou in Sui Dynasty. Yuqian, together with Lin'an and Yuqian, belonged to Yuhang County of Hangzhou. In 978, Zixi was renamed Changhua County.

In the third year of JINGDING in the Southern Song Dynasty (1262), the county was moved to the foot of Baoshan mountain in Xishu.
Since the Song Dynasty, the establishment and name of Lin'an, Yuqian and Changhua counties have been basically stable. The Northern Song Dynasty belonged to Hangzhou, the Southern Song Dynasty belonged to Lin'an Prefecture, the Yuan Dynasty belonged to Hangzhou Road, and the Ming Dynasty belonged to Hangzhou Prefecture. Hong wuchu (1368) moved to the right of Taimiao mountain in Dongshi. Yuqian and Changhua belonged to Zhangjun in Qin Dynasty, which was extended in Qing Dynasty.
The first year of the Republic of China (1912) abolished the government, directly under the province. In 1935, it belonged to Wuxing District of Zhejiang Province. In 1948, it was transferred to the ninth administrative supervision district, and its special office was located in Yijin Town, Lin'an County.
In 1949, after the liberation of Lin'an, Yuqian and Changhua, they belonged to Lin'an special area. In 1953, Lin'an district was abolished and changed to Jiaxing district. In 1955, Yuqian and Changhua were assigned to Jiande special zone. In 1957, Lin'an County was divided into Jiande district. In 1958, Yuhang county was abolished and merged into Lin'an County; Yuqian county was abolished and merged into Changhua County; in December of the same year, Jiande district was abolished and Lin'an and Changhua were incorporated into Jiaxing district. In 1960, Changhua County was abolished and merged into Lin'an County under the leadership of Hangzhou city. In 1988, it was approved by the State Council as a coastal economic open area city in China. In 1996, Lin'an County was removed and built into a city.
In 2014, Hangzhou municipal government proposed to promote the work of removing Lin'an City into districts.
On July 11, 2016, the 11th Hangzhou Municipal Committee decided to withdraw Lin'an into districts.
In July 2017, the State Council officially agreed to abolish Lin'an City at the county level and establish Lin'an District of Hangzhou city. The former administrative region of Lin'an City is the administrative region of Lin'an district. The people's Government of Lin'an district is located at 398 Yijin street, Jincheng Street.
On August 10, 2017, the people's Government of Zhejiang Province officially abolished Lin'an City at the county level and established Lin'an District of Hangzhou city. The regional structure belongs to the Qiantang fold belt of the Yangtze paraplatform. In the long geological period, the diversity and uniqueness of the landform in the area were formed by the Indosinian movement and the Yanshan movement.

The average altitude of the northwest and southwest mountainous areas is more than 1000 meters, and that of the eastern river valley plain is less than 50 meters; the altitude of Qingliangfeng in the west is 1787 meters, and that of Shiquan in the East is only 9 meters, and the altitude difference between the East and the west is more than 1770 meters, which is rare in Zhejiang Province. The main streams in Lin'an are Dongtiao River, which is mainly originated from nantiao River, and its main tributary is Zhongtiao River, belonging to Taihu Lake system; Fenshui River is mainly originated from Changhua River, and its main tributary is Tianmu River, belonging to Qiantang River system. The main streams all originate from the mountains above 1000 meters above sea level. The upstream section has many canyons with steep slopes and deep valleys. The middle and lower reaches are located in low mountains and hills with flat terrain and many river valleys and plains.
Nantiao river is located in the eastern part of the area. It is the main source of Dongtiao River and belongs to the Yangtze River system. It originates from linmumajiangang, Taihu Lake source town. The main peak is 1271.4 meters above sea level, with a total length of 63 kilometers and a drainage area of 720 square kilometers, with a gradient of 12.3 ‰. The section is 55 kilometers long and the drainage area is 620.8 square kilometers. The annual average flow measured by Qingshan Reservoir hydrological station is 14.5 cubic meters per second.
Zhongtiaoxi, located in the northeast of the area, is the main tributary of Dongtiaoxi and belongs to the Yangtze River system. It originated in qingcaowangang, at the junction of Shimen and Anji in Gaohong town. The main peak is 1073.9 meters above sea level. The stream originates from meilingkeng, flows southeast through Shimen, Gaohong and Hengfan, leaves xiatanglou, and flows east through Changle to tangwandu, and joins Dongtiaoxi from the left bank. The total length is 47.8 km, the slope is 17.9 ‰, and the drainage area is 185.6 km2.
Tianmu river runs through the central part of the area and is the main tributary of Fenshui River, belonging to Qiantang River water system. It originates from tongkenggang in the north of West Tianmu Mountain and the junction of Anji County. The main peak is 1506 meters above sea level. From guniutang, West Tianmu Township, from north to south, it flows through West Tianmu, Shaolu, Yuqian, Yankou, Tashan, Zishui, huichanghuaxi in Zixi, and fenshuijiang in the south. The length of the stream is 58 kilometers, and the drainage area is 761.5 square kilometers, with a gradient of 21.8 ‰.
Changhua river is located in the north of the area. It is the main source of Fenshui River and belongs to Qiantang River system. It originates from Bijia mountain, Jixi County, Anhui Province. Its main peak is 1385 meters above sea level. It enters xishewu, Xinqiao township. The main stream flows through Xinqiao, Daoshi, Yutiao, longjingqiao, Longgang, Changhua, Heqiao, Mashan and Zishui.
