Historical evolution
In 1896, the general of Jilin entrusted Yitong prefecture to do reclamation work in Mengjiang.
In the 26th year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu of Qing Dynasty (1900), there were more and more residents in Mengjiang. In October, Jilin general established a bureau of reclamation in Mengjiang, which was under the jurisdiction of Jilin general.
In 1907, the three eastern provinces were changed into provinces, and the government, Department, prefecture and county were added to consolidate the border. In Fengtian, the governor of the three eastern provinces was set up (governing Feng, Ji and Hei provinces), the general was removed, and the governor was set up. In October 1945, the Communist Party of China sent people to take over the puppet regime of Mengjiang county. Mengjiang county was liberated and the democratic government of Mengjiang county was formally established under the jurisdiction of Liaodong province. In February 1946, Mengjiang county changed its name to Jingyu County and then came under the jurisdiction of Liaoning Province. In 1948, Jingyu County was under the jurisdiction of Anton province. In August 1954, Jingyu County was under the jurisdiction of Tonghua district administrative office of Jilin Province.
On February 4, 1985, Tonghua district administrative office was abolished, the former Tonghua City and Hunjiang city were upgraded to prefecture level cities, and the system of city governing county was implemented. Jingyu County was subordinate to Hunjiang City, Jilin Province.
In April 1994, Hunjiang city was renamed Baishan City, and Jingyu County was subordinate to Baishan City.
