Wan'an County, belonging to Ji'an City, Jiangxi Province, is located in the south central part of Jiangxi Province and the southern edge of Ji'an City, adjacent to Taihe County, Suichuan County, Xingguo County and Ganxian District, with a total area of 2051 square kilometers. Wan'an town was set up in the first year of Baoda in the Southern Tang Dynasty (943), and county was set up in the fourth year of Xining in the Song Dynasty (1071). Furong Town was governed by the county. From the Song Dynasty to the end of the Qing Dynasty, there were 132 Jinshi in Wan'an County, including more than 470 Jinshi. Wan'an is an important part of Jinggangshan revolutionary base and the hometown of Kang Keqing, a proletarian revolutionist. It has raised seven founding generals, including Wang Huiqiu, former air force political commissar, Kuang Yumin, former artillery commander, and Zhong Hanhua, original military political commissar.
In 2019, Wan'an county will achieve a GDP of 8.858 billion yuan and a total fiscal revenue of 1.34 billion yuan.
History of construction
Before the Shang and Zhou dynasties, it belonged to Yangzhou; in the spring and Autumn period, it belonged to Wu; in the Warring States period, it belonged to Chu; in the Qin Dynasty, it belonged to Jiujiang County; in the Western Han Dynasty, it belonged to Yuzhang County; in the Eastern Han Dynasty, it belonged to Luling county. The fourth year of Jian'an (199) of Emperor Xian of Han Dynasty was a part of SuiXing county.

In the first year of Taikang (280), it was renamed SuiXing county and Wan'an county.
In 590, Sui kaihuang abolished SuiXing County, and its territory was incorporated into Taihe County.
Wan'an town was established in the first year of Baoda (943). According to legend, it was a piece of stone talisman written by Pidi. On it, there was an eight point book that said, "the boundary between the two states, the flag of God, is the capital, and all the people are in peace." so it was named Wan'an. Because of the five colors of auspicious clouds, it is also called five clouds. In ancient times, it has the reputation of "five clouds are auspicious and all people are safe".
In 1071, Wan'an town was changed into Wan'an county. Historical records: Taking the town as the water and land rush, the boat and car meeting, controlling the throat of Ganjiang River, cutting Yongxing and Heshu in Longquan county (today's Suichuan County), integrity in Taihe County (today's Taihe County), Longquan Township in Ganxian county (today's Ganxian county), Wan'an County, belonging to Jizhou.
In Yuan Dynasty, Wan'an County belonged to Ji'an road.
In the Ming Dynasty, Wan'an County belonged to Ji'an Prefecture, and the Ming system was used in the Qing Dynasty.
In the early years of the Republic of China, Wan'an County belonged to Luling road of Jiangxi Province; in the 15th year of the Republic of China (1926), Wan'an county was directly under Jiangxi Province; in the 21st year of the Republic of China (1932), Wan'an County belonged to the ninth administrative supervision district of Jiangxi Province; from the 23rd year of the Republic of China (1934) to the 38th year of the Republic of China (1949), Wan'an County belonged to the third administrative supervision district of Jiangxi Province.
On August 7, 1949, Wan'an county was liberated; on October 1, the people's Republic of China was founded, and Wan'an county belongs to Ji'an District of Jiangxi Provincial People's government.
In March 1955, Ji'an district was changed into Ji'an special district, which belongs to Wan'an county.
In February 1968, Ji'an district was changed into Jinggangshan District, which belongs to Wan'an county.

Flow direction: the middle and upper reaches are from southeast to northwest. From Jiuxian in Baijia Township, the lower reaches turn northeast and enter Taihe, with a total length of 90 km. The river is generally 500-1000 meters wide, with a maximum width of 1200 meters and a minimum width of 450 meters. Wan'an county is rich in wildlife resources. There are more than 2000 kinds of higher plants. The main zonal vegetation is evergreen broad-leaved forest. The floristic composition of Fagaceae is evergreen species, followed by Lauraceae, Theaceae, Hamamelidaceae, ileaceae, Euphorbiaceae, Meliaceae, Tiliaceae and Bambusoideae. At the end of Ming Dynasty, the population of the whole county was 33000.
