Evolution of organizational system
Shuangtaizi District has a long history. It belonged to Youzhou in ancient times, Liaodong in Han Dynasty, and Gaogouli in Jin Dynasty. Two beacon towers were built here in Ming Dynasty, and Shuangtaizi was named after it.
In January 1970, Panshan district was set up in Panjin reclamation area.
In November 1975, Panjin District merged with Yingkou City. Panshan district and Dawa district under the jurisdiction of the original region were changed into Panshan county and Dawa County, all under the jurisdiction of Yingkou City.
