The origin of place names
The name of Zhuanghe was used in the late Qing Dynasty. Before Ming Dynasty, it was called Hongyazi. In the early Qing Dynasty, it was still called Hongyazi. To the north of the city, there are red hills and rising sun in the south of Libra mountain. It looks like a piece of Danxia. In the late Qing Dynasty, Hongyazi was renamed dazhuanghe. Later, the name of "Zhuanghe" appeared. There are two versions of the name of Zhuanghe. First of all, the number of people living on the East Bank of the big river at the eastern foot of Libra has increased year by year, gradually becoming a village. Fishing boats and merchant ships have been berthed and loaded here from the sea. Therefore, they are called "dahezhuang dock" for short. Dazhuangwu ships shuttle back and forth, business is booming, people's life is prosperous. Some people propose to collect some money and build a big temple in a certain place, hoping for the protection of the gods and a long and peaceful life. This proposal was accepted by all. The site of the temple was chosen on the West Bank of the river. After the temple was repaired, a decent big bell was missing, so someone sent to Yantai to cast the bell. The bell maker mistakenly cast "dahezhuang" into "dazhuanghe". First of all, "dazhuanghe" was originally the old name of "Zhuanghe". Because the county is located on the Bank of Zhuanghe, it is named after its river. Since the establishment of Zhuanghe hall in 1906, Zhuanghe has been used for nearly a hundred years.
