After the founding of the Republic of China in 1912, the county was located in Luan county, jinhaidao, Zhili Province. In 1928, Jin Haidao was abolished and Zhili Province was changed into Hebei Province. In May 1933, the Kuomintang government signed the Tanggu agreement with the Japanese invaders, which designated Eastern Hebei as an unarmed zone. In 1935, Yin rugeng established the puppet "Jidong Fanggong autonomous government" in Tongxian County, which governed 22 counties and belonged to luanyu district. After the end of the Anti Japanese War, Luanxian county was renamed as the assistant office of LUANNAN COUNTY, which is located in Yicheng, and belongs to the 13th special office of Jidong District Administrative Office (Jidong administrative office). On April 21, 1947, LUANNAN COUNTY government office was renamed LUANNAN COUNTY GOVERNMENT. In February 1947, the Kuomintang established luanning County in Yicheng. In mid December, the government of luanning County fled to donggezhuang (now Song Daokou town). In May 1948, he fled to Luanxian county and was reorganized as the fifth Baoan regiment of Hebei Province. So far, luanning County disappeared naturally. On August 1, 1949, the people's Government of North China comprehensively adjusted the administrative divisions, abolished the administrative office, restored Hebei Province, and established the Tangshan special office under the jurisdiction of LUANNAN COUNTY.
In July 1954, LUANNAN COUNTY was abolished and merged into Luanxian county.
On November 29, 1958, Luanxian county was abolished and luanzhou District of Tangshan city was established. The former LUANNAN COUNTY was divided into luanzhou District, leting county and bogezhuang District of Tangshan city.
In 1961, some communes were put under Fengnan county.
In January 1963, the establishment of LUANNAN COUNTY was restored and it was subordinate to Tangshan regional Commissioner's office.
In 1968, the Tangshan regional special office was renamed the Tangshan regional Revolutionary Committee. In 1978, it was renamed Tangshan regional administrative office, and LUANNAN COUNTY was under its jurisdiction.
