Duolun County, belonging to Xilin Gol League of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, is located in the south of Xilin Gol League and the east of the north foot of Yinshan Mountain. Longitude 115 ° 30 ′ - 116 ° 55 ′, latitude 41 ° 45 ′ - 42 ° 39 ′. It is adjacent to Zhenglan Banner in the west, Keshiketeng Banner in Chifeng City in the north, Guyuan County, Fengning County and Weichang County in the south. The total area is 3863 square kilometers.
In 2011, it was approved by the government of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and Xilin Gol League to build a central city. The county people's government is located in duolunnur town.
In 2008, it won the honorary title of Chinese historical and cultural town, and in 2010, it won the honorary title of national characteristic landscape tourism town. In September 2018, it won the title of "China natural oxygen bar". On April 18, 2019, the people's Government of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region decided to withdraw Duolun County from the sequence of poverty-stricken counties.
Historical evolution
The name of the county comes from the Mongolian "duolunnuoer", which means "seven lakes". It was named after seven lakes. The administrative system began in the Qing Dynasty. It was once one of the three halls of Koubei, which was called the Council Hall of duolunnuoer.
In 1691, Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty held a famous "duolunnuoer alliance", and Mobei Mongolia was formally attached to the central government of the Qing Dynasty, which changed the political pattern of Northeast Asia at that time.
In 1710 (the 49th year of Kangxi), the Qing government established "Xinghua town" in duolunnuoer, which was under the jurisdiction of Zhili Province.
In 1732 (the 10th year of Yongzheng reign), the Council Office of Guihua city and the Council Office of duolunnuoer were established. As the northernmost administrative and judicial organ in Zhili Province, the Council Office of duolunnuoer directly administers more than 20000 square kilometers of administrative areas including duolunnuoer City, Chahar left wing blue flag, white flag, white flag and yellow flag. The scope of judicial litigation management involves more than 130 banners in Inner Mongolia and Outer Mongolia, and becomes the local government that directly exercises power on behalf of the imperial court in Inner Mongolia and Outer Mongolia.
In 1881 (the seventh year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu), the Qing government changed duolunnuoer council office into duolunnuoer Fumin office to manage all the administrative affairs within the jurisdiction of Chahar left-wing four banners.
In 1913 (the second year of the Republic of China), the government of the Republic of China abolished duolunnuoer Fumin hall and set it as Duolun County.
In 1914 (the third year of the Republic of China), Chahar Special Administrative Region was established in the Republic of China. Duolun county is the second largest city after Zhangjiakou, the capital of the administrative region.
In 1928 (the 17th year of the Republic of China), Chahar Special Administrative Region was transformed into a province, and Duolun County was the second largest city in the province.
In August 1945, the Soviet Union and the Mongolian union defeated the Japanese army. The Soviet Union and the Mongolian union set up the Duolun Soviet city in Duolun City, under the jurisdiction of duolunuoer banner.
In May 1949, Duolun city was abolished and Chengguan District was established. In October of the same year, Duolun county government was renamed Duolun County People's government.
In August 1950, according to the decision of the Ministry of internal affairs of the central government, Duolun County belonged to the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and Chahar League.
In October 1958, Xilin Gol League and Chahar League merged, and the establishment of Chahar League was abolished. Duolun county is subordinate to Xilin Gol League.
On September 29, 2011, the report meeting on the site selection of the regional central city in the south of Ximeng was held in Duolun County. The meeting unanimously approved the site selection of Duolun County to build the regional central city in the south of Ximeng.

Duolun is rich in water resources. There are 47 perennial rivers and 62 lakes, with a total water area of 162000 mu. On less than 1.9% of the land in Xilinguole League, the runoff of surface water accounts for nearly half of the league. Duolun County was listed as one of the 13 national key prospecting areas in 1996. There are 18 kinds of non-metallic mineral deposits, of which the proven reserves are 86.58 million tons of high-quality lignite, 2.2242 million tons of limestone, 223 million tons of perlite, 9.8837 million tons of zeolite, 84900 tons of agate, 8.1568 million tons of hydromica and 118700 tons of fluorite. The estimated reserves of volcanic rocks are about 491 million cubic meters. The proven reserves of iron ore in the metal deposits are 13.21 million tons, and lead, tin, manganese, silver and gold deposits are also found.
