Historical evolution
In the Neolithic age, the site of "haishengbulang culture" was found on the Loess platform on the North Bank of the Yellow River in tuoxian County, which proved that human beings had been living here as early as the new era.
During the spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period, Rongdi, Linhu and other ethnic groups were nomadic here. In the 12th year of king an of Zhou Dynasty (390 BC), marquis Wu of Zhao state built Yunzhong city (today's Tuoketuo county). In the 19th year of King Zhao Wuling (307 B.C.), Linhu and Loufan were broken in the north, the Great Wall was built, and Yunzhong county was established (the capital was in the ancient town of Tuoketuo county). In the Qin Dynasty, Yunzhong county was one of the 36 counties in China, with Yunzhong county and Wuquan county (today's Tuoketuo County, heishuiquan county)
In the Western Han Dynasty, Yunzhong County governs 11 counties, among which Yunzhong, Wuquan, yangshou, Shaling and Zhenling are all in the present county.
During the northern and Southern Dynasties, the Tuoba tribe of Xianbei nationality successively established the state power of Dai Dynasty and the Northern Wei Dynasty.
