Historical evolution
The origin of the name
Jilong means "comfortable village" and "Happy Village" in Tibetan. It is said that when chisongdezan invited master lianhuasheng to Tibet from India in the late 8th century, the master and his party passed through jilonggou (today's jilongzhen area) and stayed here for a night. The master was impressed by the beautiful scenery. The river in the valley was as white as milk, and the pebbles at the bottom were as smooth as jade. Therefore, before leaving the next day, Xinran named this place "Jilong" to express his infinite praise, and the title "Jilong" has been handed down to this day.
