Ping Shun county, Shanxi County, Changzhi, Shanxi Province, located in the southeast of Shanxi, east of Changzhi, with an area of 1550 square kilometers, with 5 towns and 7 townships, and 152 thousand and 500 registered residence population (2018).
Pingshun county is located in the western half of the southern section of Taihang Mountains, which is a typical dry stone mountain area and old revolutionary base area. The whole area is rugged, high mountains and deep valleys, barren soil, drought and water shortage, and poor natural conditions. During the Anti Japanese War, Pingshun county was a part of Taihang Anti Japanese base, where revolutionaries of the older generation such as Zhu De and Yang Xiufeng lived and fought. In the 1950s, during the period of agricultural cooperation, Li Shunda, Shen Jilan and other advanced models led the masses of Xigou village to develop agricultural and forestry production. The "Xigou spirit" became a banner of China's agricultural front.
Pingshun county is a key county of national poverty alleviation and development. It mainly grows corn, millet, wheat, potato and other crops, and is rich in Zanthoxylum bungeanum, Codonopsis pilosula and Forsythia suspensa. Industrial categories include mining, metallurgy, building materials, hydropower, wind power, machinery, agricultural and sideline products processing, etc. The main tourist attractions are Taihang water town, Tongtian gorge, Tianji mountain, shenlongwan, Xigou village, etc. Waji railway and Changping Expressway run through the whole area.
On September 25, 2018, it won the honorary title of "2018 e-commerce into rural comprehensive demonstration county" of the Ministry of Commerce. Pingshun county was awarded the national health county (township) in 2018. In March 2019, it will be listed in the first batch of counties for the protection and utilization of revolutionary cultural relics. In 1529, Pingshun county (named by Emperor Shizong of Ming Dynasty for "suppressing the rebels and taming the local people") was set up in 31 li of Licheng County, Lucheng county and Huguan county.
In 1644, the first year of the reign of emperor Shunzhi of the Qing Dynasty, Shanxi Province was established. Pingshun county belongs to Lu'an Prefecture of Shanxi Province.
In 1764, Pingshun county was abolished. Thirty villages under the jurisdiction of the former Pingshun county were assigned to Licheng County, 70 villages to Huguan County, and 12 Li and 44 villages to Lucheng county.
In April 1912, Pingshun county was restored to Lu'an Prefecture.
In 1914, Pingshun County belonged to Jining road.
In February 1915, Pingshun county was abolished and the former administrative region of Pingshun county was merged into Lucheng county.

After the county was established in the Ming Dynasty, Pingshun county was divided into four townships, eight capitals and thirty-one Li (ten households for one Li and ten for one Li).
