Guangnan County Guangnan County is a county under the jurisdiction of Wenshan Prefecture in Yunnan Province. It is located in the southeast of Yunnan Province, in the northeast of Wenshan Prefecture, and at the junction of Yunnan, Guangxi and Guizhou.
Guangnan County, adjacent to Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, is located at the junction of Yunnan, Guangxi and Guizhou provinces. It is adjacent to Funing County in the East, Xichou County and Malipo County in the south, Qiubei County and Yanshan County in the west, Xilin County of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Xingyi City of Guizhou Province in the north.
By the end of 2017, Guangnan County had 18 townships and 2 state-owned farms with a total population of 808100.
Guangnan County has won the honorary title of "2018 e-commerce into rural comprehensive demonstration county". In March 2019, it will be listed in the first batch of counties for the protection and utilization of revolutionary cultural relics. On November 13, 2020, Guangnan County was approved by the people's Government of Yunnan Province to withdraw from the poverty-stricken county.
Historical evolution
In Guangnan County, during the pre Qin period, there lived the gouting tribe.
In the Qin Dynasty, nine tribes dominated by "Liao" and "Pu" formed the state of gouting, which was established as the king of wubo.
In the sixth year of Yuanding (111 BC) in the Western Han Dynasty, gouting county was set up, belonging to Jue County; in the 19th year of Jian'an (214 AD) in the Eastern Han Dynasty, it still belonged to Jue county.
In the third year of Jianxing (225 A.D.) of the Shu Han Dynasty, Zhuge Liang went to the south to conquer nanzhong. After that, he divided Jianning and Zhuzhou into Xinggu County, and Guangnan was subordinate to Xinggu county.
In Jin Dynasty, it belonged to Xinggu County of ningzhou.
During the northern and Southern Dynasties, ningzhou, ling6 counties and gouting county were set up in Yunnan.
In the early Tang Dynasty, lipanzhou (the state was governed in Pu'an, Guizhou); Kaiyuan 29 (A.D. 741), Guangnan was the base of the Nong family, which was under the jurisdiction of Liao Zibu, and belonged to the prefecture of Andu in nanxidao.
In the third year of Liang Zhenming (917 A.D.) after the Five Dynasties, the Southern Han state was founded. Today Guangnan belongs to the Southern Han state.

In 1732 A.D., a brick city was built, with southeast and northwest gate building and small south gate; in 1737 A.D., Guangnan Prefecture was attached with Baoning County, which had the same city as the government. Baoning county had jurisdiction over Guangnan County, Weimo, Aji and Ganhe townships in Yanshan County; Tianxing and Pingzhai townships in Qiubei County; Tianpeng, Muyang, langheng, Mulun and Lida townships in Funing County.
In the second year of the Republic of China (1913), the government was abolished, Baoning county was changed into Guangnan County, and Fuzhou county was changed into Fuxian county. After the reform, the two counties were subordinate to Mengzi Dao (ruling in Mengzi); in the thirty first year of the Republic of China (1942), they were subordinate to the second (later changed to the fourth) administrative supervision district, where they were located in Wenshan.
After the establishment of the people's democratic government of Guangnan County on February 17, 1949, until March 1958, Guangnan County was under the jurisdiction of Wenshan District and was governed in Wenshan; on April 1, 1958, Wenshan Zhuang and Miao Autonomous Prefecture was established and governed in Wenshan.
On November 13, 2020, Guangnan County was approved by the people's Government of Yunnan Province to withdraw from the poverty-stricken county.
