Qiubei County Qiubei County is located in the southeast of Yunnan Province. Its geographical coordinates are 103 ° 34 ′～ 104 ° 45 ′ E and 23 ° 45 ′～ 24 ° 28 ′ n. The population of ethnic minorities is 287000, accounting for 62.52% of the total population. County People's Government in Jinping Town, 1452 meters above sea level, 280 kilometers away from the provincial capital Kunming, 114 kilometers away from Wenshan Prefecture.

On September 25, 2018, it won the honorary title of "2018 e-commerce into rural comprehensive demonstration county" of the Ministry of Commerce. On May 17, 2020, it will officially withdraw from the poverty-stricken counties.

Historical evolution

Qiubei is located in the original hilly area of karst mountain in Southeast Yunnan. The terrain is high in the southwest and low in the northeast. The main rivers are Nanpan River, Liulangdong River, kuamo River, Tuodi River, GuanZhai River, Buban River, Qingshui River, Nanqiu River, Qingshui River, Qingping River, Shikui River and Panlong River (maheng section), which belong to Xijiang River system of Pearl River Basin and Lujiang River system of Red River Basin. Puzhehei lake is a large natural lake with a water surface of 10.8 square kilometers. The highest elevation (Yangxiong peak) is 2501.8 meters, and the lowest elevation (Nongwei Village) is 782 meters.

As Qiubei is located in the low latitude monsoon region, its climate generally belongs to the mid subtropical plateau monsoon climate. There are four climate types: south subtropical, middle subtropical, north subtropical and south temperate zone. The average annual precipitation of Qiubei County is 1183 mm. Most of the water systems in Qiubei County belong to the Pearl River Basin and Xijiang River system. Nanpan River is the boundary river and Qingshui River is the main dry river. There are 13 rivers in Qiubei County, with an annual runoff of 2 447.4 million cubic meters. The inflow of 350 million cubic meters of water from Yanshan to Nanqiu river is 2 797.4 million cubic meters. Qiubei County is rich in water resources. The theoretical reserves of water energy in Qiubei County is 264500 kW, and the exploitable capacity is 169000 kW, which is 64% of the theoretical reserves (excluding the main stream of Nanpanjiang River). In addition to surface water, there are abundant groundwater resources. The famous Yile, Shuitou, bailuo and Jiucheng springs are supplied by groundwater. The runoff area of Liulangdong underground river is about 1020 square kilometers, and the total recharge area is about 2280 square kilometers. In February 1960, the state built an underground hydropower station with an installed capacity of 25000 kilowatts here. The total installed capacity of the developed hydropower stations is 40100 kW, accounting for only 23.73% of the exploitable capacity. The exploitable hydropower stations are mainly concentrated in: Nanqiu River, Qingshui River, Qingshui River, GuanZhai River and budang river. Among them, Hongqi reservoir power station and bisongjiu power station have been built on Qingshui River, gray I and gray II power stations have been built on Qingshui River, GuanZhai power station, xiaoyangbu power station and Dama power station have been built on GuanZhai river.

The cultivated land area of Qiubei County is 580500 mu, including 106000 mu of paddy field (including 30200 mu of leixiang field), 474900 mu of dry land and 4538600 mu of forest land (including 134000 mu of barren mountains suitable for forest). It is suitable for planting grain crops, flue-cured tobacco, pepper, lotus root, grape, dioscorea, Panax notoginseng and other economic crops, as well as the growth and breeding of many tree species and natural bacteria.

Liudu copper deposit (small copper deposit) has an average grade of 0.93% and reserves of 13500 tons. Shuimicong coal reserves (c + D) are 2.7 million tons. The large iron bauxite is a medium-sized deposit, and the Tangfang dolomite and limestone are large-scale deposits.
