Ninglang Yi Autonomous County Ninglang Yi Autonomous County is under the jurisdiction of Lijiang City, Yunnan Province, commonly known as Xiaoliangshan. It is located in the northwest of Yunnan Province. Historical evolution
In Han Dynasty, suijiu county and Gufu County belonged to Yueyi county.
In Nanzhao period of Tang Dynasty, the northern area was called loutoufu, which belonged to Tieqiao Festival at first and Jianchuan Festival later.
Dali in Song Dynasty belonged to Shanju county.
In the Yuan Dynasty, the Tusi system was implemented, with Yongning prefecture (Tuzhi prefecture) in the north and Langlang prefecture (Tuzhi prefecture) in the south, belonging to Lijiang road.
In the fourth year of Yongle (1406) of Ming Dynasty, it was transferred to Yunnan Province.
From the late Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China, residents in neighboring counties called Ninglang Xiaoliangshan.
In 1917, Yongning tufu and langqu Tusi merged and established Ninglang sub County, which belongs to Yongbei county. Ninglang is named after Yongning Prefecture and Langzhou in Yuan Dynasty.
In 1936, Ninglang was set up to govern Daxing town.
On January 21, 1950, Ninglang was peacefully liberated; in February of the same year, Xiaoliangshan Yi office was established in the southern region; in May, Ninglang county administrative committee was established in the northern region; in September 1951, it was renamed Ninglang County National Democratic United Government.
On September 20, 1956, with the approval of the State Council, the national democratic united government of Ninglang County in the north and the Yi Affairs Office of Xiaoliangshan in the South were merged to form Ninglang Yi Autonomous County, which was under the jurisdiction of Lijiang administrative Commissioner's office; in 1970, it was under the jurisdiction of Lijiang Prefecture; in 2003, it was under the jurisdiction of prefecture level Lijiang City.
On August 4, 2005, Yunnan provincial government abolished Hongqi Township, and its administrative region was merged into Daxing town. The town government was stationed in the former Daxing town government.
On November 13, 2020, Ninglang county was approved by the people's Government of Yunnan Province to withdraw from poverty-stricken counties.

Ninglang is located in the middle part of Hengduan Mountains in Northwest Yunnan. The terrain is high in the northwest and low in the southeast. There are many mountains and gullies in Ninglang, which is a typical original landform. Mianmianshan runs through the whole territory from north to south. To the west of mianmianshan mountain is the landform of Jinshajiang high mountain and gorge. There are many mountains, deep valleys and great altitude differences. To the east of Mianmian mountain, most of them belong to the original mountain area, with thick mountains. The main plateau flat dams are distributed in this area, and the larger ones are Yongning dam (56.5 square kilometers), Baiqu dam (20.5 square kilometers) and Hongqiao dam (20.4 square kilometers). The main peak of baiyanzi mountain, the highest point in the territory, is 4510.3 meters above sea level, and the lowest point is the zibuhekou on the Bank of Jinsha River in Ningli Township, 1350 meters above sea level.
