On January 20, 2006, Yunnan Provincial People's Government (yzf [2006] No.5) approved that Penglai township of Yiliang County should be abolished, and its administrative region should be merged into Kuangyuan town. After the adjustment of administrative divisions, Kuangyuan town has jurisdiction over the administrative areas of the former Kuangyuan town and Nanyang Town, and the resident of the people's Government of Kuangyuan town remains unchanged.
On May 6, 2009, Yunnan Provincial People's Government approved the cancellation of Zhushan Township and Majie Township in Yiliang County and the establishment of Zhushan Town and Majie town. After the township was removed, Zhushan Town and Majie town respectively took charge of the original administrative areas of Zhushan Township and Majie Township, and their subordinate relations and government residences remained unchanged.
