Napo County Napo County is located in the southwest border of Guangxi and the southern edge of Liushao mountain, the remnant of Yunnan Guizhou Plateau. It is connected with Jingxi city in the southeast, Funing County in Yunnan Province in the northwest, and Vietnam in the South and southwest. It has 207 km long border line, which is the longest County in Guangxi.
In 2004, it was awarded the honorary title of "hometown of star anise in China" by the State Forestry Administration. Longhe town was changed from township to Longhe town on March 15, 2018
On September 25, 2018, it won the honorary title of "2018 e-commerce into rural comprehensive demonstration county" of the Ministry of Commerce.
In March 2019, it was selected into the list of the first batch of revolutionary cultural relics protection and utilization areas and counties. On November 20, 2020, the people's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region approved to withdraw from the poverty-stricken counties.
Historical evolution
Napo County has a long history. There were human activities here in the Neolithic period. In ancient times, it was a place of Guangdong.
Qin belongs to Xiang County, which has not been established. In the sixth year of Ding in the Han Dynasty (111 B.C.), it was located in gouting county (Guangnan County, Yunnan Province). It has not yet been built.
In the third year of Shu Jianxing in the Three Kingdoms (225), it was located in Xinggu County in the south of Yizhou. The county was governed by wanwen (now Weimo Town, Yanshan County, Yunnan Province). It has not yet been built. In the first year of Xianning in the Western Jin Dynasty (275), it was located in Xinggu County, ningzhou, and the county was governed by lugao (now Zhuyuan Town, Mile County, Yunnan Province). It has not yet been built.
The southern and Northern Dynasties are located in Xiping County of ningzhou in the Southern Dynasties. It has not yet been built.
In 581, the first year of emperor kaihuang of Sui Dynasty, it was under the jurisdiction of the general manager's office of Nanning Prefecture (the government was in Qujing, Yunnan Province). It has not yet been built.
In the 22nd year of Kaiyuan in Tang Dynasty (734), Lingnan was divided into the East Road and the west road. The West Road of Lingnan included the present Guangxi border and the southeast of Yunnan Province.
At this time, the county belongs to the Jimi area of Lingnan West Road. It has not yet been built.
The Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms belong to the Jimi area of Yongzhou (now Nanning) in the Southern Han Dynasty. It has not yet been built.
Song Huanghu five years (1053), began to build, known as zhen'antong (today's Chengxiang town north of Gan Tuo rock), belongs to Yongzhou. In the first year of Zhenghe (1111), Youjiang military and civilian Xuanfu department was built in zhenandong. In the fourth year of Zhenghe (1114), zhenandong was changed into Jimi Prefecture, belonging to Yongzhou.
In the 29th year of the Yuan Dynasty (1292), Zhenan tuzhou was changed into Zhenan road. Lingande, Guishun and Xialei tudong are three prefectures, which are under the jurisdiction of jinnapo, Jingxi, Debao, Tiandeng and Daxin counties.
In the second year of Hongwu (1369), the Ming Dynasty took Zhen'an road as a remote place, abandoned the road, moved to the abandoned frozen state (now Debao county) and established Zhen'an Prefecture. Today that slope is called the town of ANN. During the reign of Yongle (1403-1424), cen Tianbao, the second son of the tufu in Zhen'an, took charge of the town and appointed the prefecture magistrate. It belongs to the remote leader of si'en Prefecture. In 1743, tuzhou of Zhen'an was changed into tuxun department, which belonged to Zhenan Prefecture. Qianlong 31 years (1766), the transfer of officials, set up a general sentence, known as the town security office. Guangxu 12 years (1886), town security office renamed Zhenbian County, under the Guishun Zhili prefecture (now Jingxi County).
The first year of the Republic of China (1912), still known as Zhenbian County, Zhili in the province. In August 1913, it was subordinate to zhennandao (now Longzhou county). In 1927, the road was abandoned and renamed Zhennan district. In 1930, it was under the jurisdiction of the Jingxi militia. In 1932, it was under the jurisdiction of Longzhou militia. In 1933, it was under the jurisdiction of Tianbao militia (Tianbao county) and in 1934, it was changed to be under the administrative supervision of Tianbao. In 1940, it was transferred to the office of administrative inspector and security commander of the 11th district (Jingxi County). In 1942, it was transferred to the office of administrative inspector and security commander of the Sixth District of Guangxi.
From December 1949 to June 1951, Zhenbian county was under the jurisdiction of Longzhou district. In July 1951, Zhenbian county was under the jurisdiction of Baise district.
On April 23, 1953, with the approval of the Government Affairs Council, Zhenbian county was renamed Mubian county. On October 3, the people's Government of Guangxi province gave an official reply by (53) SMZ No. 97. Since October 27, Zhenbian county has been changed into Mubian county. It belongs to Baise District of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. On March 2, 1956, the administrative system was changed to Baise area of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Prefecture. On January 25, 1958, Mubian county was changed into Baise special district.
On January 20, 1965, because Mao Zedong said, "it's better to be" Napo! " It was renamed Napo County. This is the only county of 2800 counties in China whose name was drawn up by Chairman Mao himself.
In 1971, Napo County changed to Baise area. Since June 2, 2002, Baise City has remained unchanged.
According to the fifth census in 2000, the total population of Napo County is 170158. Among them: 45551 in Chengxiang Town, 13251 in Pingyu Town, 12386 in Pohe Township, 16481 in Longhe Township, 11649 in Dingye Township, 16141 in Delong Township, 13535 in Baihe Township, 8212 in Bainan Township, 6271 in Xiahua Township, 7977 in Baisheng Township, 11765 in Baidu Township and 6939 in Nalong township.
On June 21, 2005, the government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (GZH No. 176) agreed to adjust the administrative divisions of some townships in Napo County: abolish Xiahua Township, merge the reorganization system into Baisheng Township, and the government residence of Baisheng Township remains unchanged; abolish Nalong Township, merge the reorganization system into Baidu Township, and the government residence of Baidu Township remains unchanged; abolish Dingye Township, merge the reorganization system into Longhe Township, and the government residence of Longhe Township remains unchanged.
In 2018, Napo County covers an area of 2231 square kilometers and has a population of about 190000. It has jurisdiction over 2 towns and 17 townships: Chengxiang Town, Pingmeng Town, Pohe Township, Longhe Township, Delong Township, Baihe Township, Bainan Township, Xiahua Township, Baisheng Township and Baidu township. The county government is located in Chengxiang town.
The county now governs 3 towns and 6 townships: Chengxiang Town, Pingmeng Town, Pohe Town, Longhe Town, Delong Town, Baihe Town, Bainan Town, Baisheng town and Baidu town. The county government is located in Chengxiang town.
Longhe town was founded on March 15, 2018.
On November 20, 2020, the people's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region approved to withdraw from the poverty-stricken counties.
