Qixing District Qixing District, also known as Guilin National High tech Industrial Development Zone, is located on the East Bank of Lijiang River in Guilin city. It has four streets, one township and one overseas Chinese tourism economic zone. It covers an area of 121 square kilometers and has a total population of 310000. The district government is located in high tech development building, No.26, Luan Road, Lidong street, Qixing District, Guilin city.
From the third year of Gaozu to the fifth year of Yuanding (204-112 B.C.) in the Western Han Dynasty, the area belongs to Nanyue, Guilin county. In June 1997, Guilin National High tech Industrial Development Zone merged with Qixing District, which is called Qixing District of Guilin National High tech Industrial Development Zone. Guilin Ring Expressway passes through the territory, 28 kilometers away from Guilin Liangjiang International Airport and 2 kilometers away from Guilin North Station (high speed railway station).
In 2018, the GDP of Qixing district was 19.338 billion yuan, the comparable price increased by 8.1%, the per capita disposable income of urban residents was 37046 yuan, an increase of 6.5%, and the per capita disposable income of farmers was 17701 yuan, an increase of 8.4%. In 2019, the GDP of Qixing district will increase by 5.5% over 2018.
History of construction
From the third year of Gaozu to the fifth year of Yuanding (204-112 B.C.) in the Western Han Dynasty, the area belongs to Nanyue, Guilin county. In the sixth year of Yuanding (111 BC) of the Western Han Dynasty, it belonged to Shi'an County of Lingling county. in the 28th year of Jianwu in the Eastern Han Dynasty, it was transferred to Shi'an Hou state of Lingling county. In November 265, the first year of Wu Ganlu in the Three Kingdoms, Wu analyzed the south of Lingling county and set up Shi'an county. The area belongs to Shi'an County, Shi'an County, which was renamed from the Marquis state of Shi'an in the Eastern Han Dynasty. Jin, southern and Northern Dynasties and Sui dynasties were the same. in the fourth year of Wude of Tang Dynasty (621), the area belongs to Shi'an County of tangguizhou (changed from Shi'an county). The first year of Tang Tianbao (742), belongs to Tang Shi'an county (Guizhou restoration) Shi'an county. Tang Zhide two years (757 years) in September, belongs to the Shi'an County Lingui county (by the Shi'an county change) land. The next year, it belongs to Guizhou (from Shi'an county to Lingui county). in the Five Dynasties and Northern Song Dynasty, it remained unchanged. in the second lunar month of the third year of Shaoxing in the Southern Song Dynasty (1133), Jingjiang prefecture (changed from Guizhou) was located in Lingui county. In 1278, Jingjiang road was located in Lingui county. On June 23, 1368, the first year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty, the district belongs to Jingjiang prefecture (Jingjiang road restoration) and Lingui county. In the fifth year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty (1372), it belonged to Lingui County, Guilin prefecture (Jingjiang Prefecture was renamed), and remained unchanged in Qing Dynasty. In March 1912, Lingui county was withdrawn, and the former county was directly under the jurisdiction of Guilin Prefecture, which belongs to Guilin Prefecture of Guangxi Province. In June 1913, Guilin Prefecture was removed and Guilin county was established. The next month, it is located in Guilin County, Lijiang road. In June 1914, the district was located in Guilin County, Guilin Road (renamed from Lijiang Road). In November 1927, Guilin road was withdrawn and Guilin county was directly under the Guangxi provincial government. In 1930, Guilin mintuan district was set up in Guilin county. It belongs to Guilin county. In March 1934, the district was located in Guilin County, Guilin administrative supervision district (changed from Guilin mintuan District). In 1940, Guilin county was changed into Lingui county. Six towns, namely Bagui, Bailong, Peifeng, Yinan, Dongjiang and Fengbei, and six townships, namely Taisha, zhemu, dongfuguo, southwest Fuguo, beifuguo and Sanhe, were set up in Guilin City, directly under the Guangxi provincial government. Among them, Dongjiang town and dongfukou township are the forerunners of Qixing district. In December 1942, the urban area was reorganized into nine administrative districts. Dongjiang town was called Dongjiang District, and dongfukuo township was called dongfukuo district. In 1949, dongfukou district was merged into Dongjiang district; on November 22 of the same year, Guilin city was liberated; in December of the same year, the city was divided into four districts: Fengbei, Bagui, Peiyi and Dongjiang. In April 1950, the administrative division of the urban area was adjusted, and Dongjiang District Office was established. In October of the same year, Dongjiang District Office was renamed the fourth district. In June 1954, it was renamed the third district. In October 1955, the third district was abolished and two sub district offices, Dongjiang and Lijiang, were set up. In November 1958, Dongjiang and Lijiang sub district offices merged to form Dongjiang people's commune. In March 1960, Dongjiang people's commune was changed into Dongjiang district office. In June of the same year, Dongjiang District Office was abolished and Dongjiang people's commune management committee was established. In March 1962, Dongjiang people's commune established Lijiang people's commune, which was under the jurisdiction of Lijiang street. In April 1968, the Revolutionary Committee of Dongjiang people's commune was established. In August 1969, the Revolutionary Committee of Lijiang people's commune was established. In July 1979, the revolutionary committees of Dongjiang and Lijiang communes were abolished and Qixing district (county level) was established under the jurisdiction of Guilin city. In December 1996, the division of Guilin city was adjusted, and Chuanshan and Chaoyang townships in the former suburbs were put under the jurisdiction of Qixing district. In June 1997, Guilin National High tech Industrial Development Zone merged with Qixing District, which is called Qixing District of Guilin National High tech Zone.

In 1940, Guilin was established as a city. In March of the same year, six towns of Bagui, Bailong, Peifeng, Yinan, Dongjiang and Fengbei were designated as urban areas, and six townships of Taisha, zhemu, dongfuguo, Sanhe, beifuguo and southwest Fuguo were designated as suburban areas. Today's Seven Star district is under the jurisdiction of Dongjiang town and dongfulong township. In September 1942, the urban area was changed into nine administrative districts, including Bagui (merged by Bagui and Bailong), Peiyi (merged by Peifeng and Yinan), Fengbei and Dongjiang, and five suburban districts including dongfuguo, beifuguo, southwest Fugao, dongfuguo and Sanhe Zhetai (merged by Taisha and zhemu). Zhishui East Street (today's Ziyou Road) in Dongjiang District governs 15 villages and Sanli Pavilion. In December 1949, dongfukuo district was merged into Dongjiang district. On November 22, 1949, Guilin city was liberated. In April 1950, Dongjiang District Office was set up in the District, which governs Qixia road with an administrative area of 3 square kilometers. The District Office abolished the old system of Bao, Jie, jia chang and established 12 district offices. In October of the same year, the Duke of Dongjiang district was renamed the Fourth District People's government, and the district government was moved from Qixia road to zhangjiayuan. At the beginning of the establishment of the Fourth District, there were Street representative committees and residents groups below the district. In October 1952, the original 12 streets under the jurisdiction of the fourth district were changed into streets (including 11 natural villages), and Street Committee (Street Committee) was set up. In January 1953, the street committee was renamed the residents committee (neighborhood committee), which was under the direct leadership of the District People's government. In June 1954, the fourth district was renamed the third district, which has jurisdiction over six neighborhood committees. In October of the next year, the third district was abolished and two sub district offices, Dongjiang and Lijiang, were set up. Dongjiang sub district office has jurisdiction over 8 neighborhood committees. Lijiang Street office has jurisdiction over two neighborhood committees. Nine natural villages under the former jurisdiction of the third district are under the jurisdiction of Guilin suburban district. In November 1958, the two sub district offices of Dongjiang and Lijiang merged to form Dongjiang people's commune at 86 Ziyou road. In March 1960, Dongjiang people's commune was renamed Dongjiang District Office (commune), which was in a private house at the foot of Putuo Mountain in Qixingyan. Under the jurisdiction of the street adjustment, 10 streets into five streets. In June of the same year, Dongjiang District Office was abolished, and Dongjiang people's commune management committee was established. Three management areas, namely Linshang, Huaqiao and Linxia, were added, and the streets under its jurisdiction were adjusted to 10 neighborhood committees. The small and medium-sized state-owned enterprises, primary and secondary schools, hospitals, shops, and the southwest and Linzhu brigades originally under the jurisdiction of Dongjiang Commune will be re managed by the original system. In June 1961, the system of Dongjiang people's commune was adjusted to the administrative region in 1958, with 10 neighborhood committees under its jurisdiction. In March 1962, Dongjiang and Lijiang communes were restored. Dongjiang commune has 8 neighborhood committees and Lijiang commune has 1 neighborhood committee. In April 1968, there were still eight streets under the jurisdiction of Dongjiang commune, but the names of some streets were changed: Wutong street was renamed Laodong street, Huaqiao street was renamed Hongqiao street, Qixing street was renamed Dongfang street, Maping street was renamed Hongguang street. Lijiang commune still governs Lijiang street. in November 1978, the original names of Laodong street, Hongqiao street, Dongfang street and Hongguang street were changed. in July 1979, Dongjiang and Lijiang people's communes were abolished and Qixing district (county level) was established. It is subordinate to Guilin City, with an administrative area of 13 square kilometers. The district governs No. 86 Ziyou Road (No. 4 Qixing road was moved in 1981 and No. 15 Maping street was moved in 1986), and has jurisdiction over 9 neighborhood committees. In 1990, it had jurisdiction over 22 neighborhood committees and 6 family committees. In December 1996, the division of Guilin city was adjusted. Chuanshan and Chaoyang, which were originally suburbs, were under the jurisdiction of Qixing District, and the administrative area increased to 83 square kilometers. Chuanshan township has 8 village committees and Chaoyang township has 6. In December 1997, two sub district offices, Dongjiang and Qixing, were set up. In July 2002, the neighborhood committees of 26 streets under the jurisdiction of Qixing district were changed into 28 communities. in May 2003, the Municipal People's government transferred Guilin overseas Chinese farm to Qixing District, and the administrative area was expanded to 97 square kilometers. In August 2005, Guilin city adjusted its administrative division again, abolished Chuanshan township of Qixing district and set up a sub district office.
