Doumen District Doumen district is under the jurisdiction of Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province. It is located in the southwest end of the Pearl River Delta and the westernmost part of Zhuhai City. It is about 30km away from the center of Zhuhai City. It is an ecological district of Zhuhai City. The protected area of basic farmland is 280000 mu, accounting for 72.5% of the whole city. Doumen district is connected with Zhongshan City in the East and Jiangmen market in the north. It is connected with the waters of Macao. From Modaomen to yamen, from Chibi island to Baijiao Qiwei, it is 33.4 km wide from east to west. Doumen was set up as a county by Zhongshan and Xinhui in July 1965. In July 1983, Doumen was under the jurisdiction of Zhuhai City. In April 2001, Doumen County was set up as a district, and the district government was set up in Jingan town.
Doumen district is a typical water town in south of the five ridges, which is full of Guangfu style. Doumen District has a long history and outstanding people. Zhao kuangmei, the younger brother of Zhao Kuangyin, the Taizu of the Song Dynasty, and other descendants of the royal family of the Southern Song Dynasty lived in Doumen Town, and left the representative works of the ancient courtyard of the Ming and Qing Dynasties and the provincial cultural relics protection unit "Luyi hall". Xiaohaochong Party branch, the first grassroots party organization of the Communist Party of China in Zhuhai, was born in Doumen. The district sports school has been named as the "national high level sports reserve talent base", which has cultivated local excellent sports talents such as Zeng Qiliang, the "Asian Frog King" and Li Jing, the silver medal winner of table tennis in Athens Olympic Games. Doumen's "marriage on water" and "custom of loading mud fish" have been included in the national intangible cultural heritage list.
Doumen district is located on the coast of the South China Sea. It is the national agricultural industrialization demonstration base, the national urban modern agricultural demonstration zone and the hometown of sea bass in China. Zhuhai national agricultural science and Technology Park vigorously implements the Doumen innovation project of national food safety. With the electronic trading platform of "Zhuhai fishery capital" aquatic products and Alibaba rural Taobao project as the fulcrum, it has broad prospects for the development of modern, brand, characteristic, standardized agriculture and eco-tourism. Dashatan is a beautiful water town surrounded by mountains, fields, rivers and seas. Before the Song Dynasty, Doumen area was called huangziwei, which belonged to Xinhui Chaoju capital.
In the 22nd year of Shaoxing in Song Dynasty (1152), the islands near Huangyang mountain were under the jurisdiction of Xiangshan County, still known as Chaoju township.
In 1381, Chaoju township of Xiangshan County was renamed huangliangdu. Dasha, madun and Shangheng are Chaoju capitals of Xinhui county. In 1880, Huangliang was renamed Huangliang town. In 1910, the town was changed into District, and Xiangshan County was called the eighth district.
In 1925, it was renamed eight districts of Zhongshan County.
In 1930, it was renamed Huangliang District of Zhongshan County.
In 1931, the district was named as the eighth District of Zhongshan County. Shangheng, Dasha and madun are called the eighth District of Xinhui county.
After the founding of the people's Republic of China, it was still the eighth District of Zhongshan County in March 1951. Shangheng, Dasha and madun are called the Ninth District of Xinhui county. In November 1958, it was called Doumen commune in Zhongshan County, one of the seven communes in Zhongshan County. Hengfen Township and Dasha Township belong to muzhou people's commune of Xinhui county.
On July 19, 1965, with the approval of the State Council, Doumen County was established under the jurisdiction of Foshan, Guangdong Province.
In July 1983, Doumen County belonged to Zhuhai City and became a county under the jurisdiction of Zhuhai City.

In 2000, Doumen County governed 10 towns (Jingan, Baijiao, Qianwu, Wushan, Doumen, Shangheng, Lianxi, Liuxiang, Hongqi and Pingsha), 121 village committees and 47 neighborhood committees. According to the data of the fifth census, the total population of the county is 401529, including 23583 in Shangheng Town, 13562 in Lianxi Town, 41294 in Liuxiang Town, 19849 in Doumen Town, 26068 in Wushan Town, 61534 in Qianwu Town, 19023 in Baijiao Town, 108074 in Jing'an Town, 49689 in Pingsha Town, 49689 in zitenghu town and 7099 in Zhennan town of 9755.
In April 2001, the State Council approved the removal of Doumen County to a district. In December of the same year, Doumen District of Zhuhai City was officially established.
Song Dynasty belongs to xinhuichao Curie. Yuan Dynasty is Chaoju township. In Ming Dynasty, it was called Huangliang capital. In the early Qing Dynasty, it was renamed Huangliang town. In 1931, it was renamed the eighth District of Zhongshan County. Doumen County was established in 1965. Because the county government was originally named Doumen Town, which is located in the northeast of Huangyang mountain and faces Meige sea in Xinhui in the southwest. The terrain is like a bucket, so it is named Doumen. In 1983, it was transferred from Foshan to Zhuhai. On April 4, 2001, with the approval of the State Council, Doumen County was abolished and Doumen District and Jinwan District of Zhuhai City were established. Doumen District governs eight towns of the former Doumen County, namely Jingan, Baijiao, Qianwu, Wushan, Doumen, Shangheng, Liuxiang and Lianxi.
In 2003, Baijiao town and six towns merged into Baijiao Town, Wushan town and Qianwu town merged into Qianwu Town, Lianxi town and Shangheng town merged into Lianzhou town. As of December 31, 2005, Doumen District has jurisdiction over five towns (Jingan, Baijiao, Qianwu, Doumen and Lianzhou).
In June 2011, Baiteng sub district office of Doumen District, Zhuhai City was established. On December 30, Baiteng sub district office was officially put into operation.

Doumen district is located in the southwest of Pearl River Delta, in the west of Zhuhai City (113 ° 05 ′ e to 113 ° 25 ′ e, 21 ° 59 ′ n to 22 ° 25 ′ n), between Modaomen and yamen. From Chibi island to Baijiao Qiwei boundary, the width between East and West is 33.4 km, with a total area of 674.8 square kilometers. Doumen district is adjacent to Zhongshan City in the East and Jiangmen City in the north, which is connected with Macao waters.
The geomorphic types of Doumen District in Zhuhai City include low mountains, hills, platforms, extensive sedimentary plains and still developing tidal flats. Therefore, it presents the obvious layered landform of convex in flat, flat in convex and concave in flat. The terrain of the whole area is characterized by low mountains, wide plains, many isolated hills, crisscross watercourses, dense rivers, rapid deposition and exposure of tidal flats. The northeast is lower than the southwest, and the alluvial zone on the edge of the hill is higher than the sedimentary plain on both sides of the river.
The hills and the alluvial plain of the Pearl River Estuary jointly form the landform of Doumen, and the small islands separated by the river network in the alluvial plain are the main residence of the water people.
Huangyang mountain is the highest mountain in Zhuhai City. It covers 31 square kilometers in Doumen District, covering towns such as Doumen, Jingan, Qianwu and Baijiao. The main peak is 581 meters high, and it is also one of the highest peaks in the Pearl River Delta, known as "the first peak of the Pearl River portal".
It is said that a long time ago, Doumen was a bay, in which the peaks stood up, and the Huangyang mountains in the middle were towering, like a huge black dragon. They took the fertile soil along the banks of the Xijiang River and took root here. They continued to deposit into more than 20 oases and plains with river networks.
Xijiang River is the longest river in South China and the third largest river in China. Its length is second only to Yangtze River and Yellow River. Shipping volume ranks second in China, second only to the Yangtze River. Originated in Yunnan, flows through Guangxi, and meets Dongjiang River and Beijiang River in Sanshui, Foshan, Guangdong. Its main stream flows into the South China Sea in Jiangmen and Zhongshan. Together with Dongjiang River and Beijiang River, it is called Zhujiang River.
Modaomen, located in qirenshi, Hongwan, Zhuhai, is the main outlet of Xijiang River. The annual runoff of Modaomen is 92.3 billion cubic meters, accounting for 28.3% of the total runoff of the Pearl River into the sea, and the annual sediment discharge is 23.14 million tons, accounting for 33% of the total sediment discharge of the Pearl River into the sea. The maximum difference between rising tide and falling tide in Modaomen is 1.9m and 2.29M respectively.
Jitimen is located in Dalin, Doumen District, adjacent to the west side of Modaomen inner sea area, and is the outlet of jitimen waterway. The annual runoff of jitimen is 19.7 billion cubic meters, accounting for 6.1% of the total runoff of the Pearl River to the sea, and the annual sediment discharge is 4.96 million tons, accounting for 7% of the total sediment discharge of the Pearl River to the sea. The maximum difference between rising tide and falling tide is 2.44m and 2.71M respectively. Jitimen is the estuary formed after the completion of niwanmen sea blocking project in 1959. Previously, niwanmen, located 16km upstream of jitimen, was one of the eight outlets of the Pearl River.
Hutiaomen is the entrance to the sea of Hutiaomen waterway. The annual runoff of Hutiaomen is 20.2 billion cubic meters, accounting for 6.2% of the total runoff of the Pearl River into the sea. The annual sediment discharge of Hutiaomen is 5.09 million tons, accounting for 7.2% of the total sediment discharge of the Pearl River into the sea. The maximum difference between rising tide and falling tide is 2.51M and 2.66M respectively.
Local water resources: the rainfall in Doumen District ranges from 1100 mm to 3339 mm, the average annual rainfall is 1998.8 mm, the average annual runoff depth is 1201 mm, and the total annual runoff is 930 million cubic meters. The annual average runoff coefficient is 0.50. Doumen District has a land area of 11 square kilometers, an average annual runoff depth of 82.1 mm, and a total amount of shallow groundwater of about 50 million cubic meters.
Passenger water resources: 76.9 billion cubic meters of passenger water in transit. Among them, Modaomen waterway is 52.3 billion cubic meters, jitimen waterway is 14 billion cubic meters, Hutiaomen waterway is 10.6 billion cubic meters.
