Linxiang Linxiang City, a county-level city in Hunan Province, is managed by Yueyang City. It is located in the northeast of Hunan Province and connects Hubei Province in the north. It is named after the meeting place of binxiang River and Yangtze River. It is known as the "gateway of Northern Hunan".
Song Chunhua five years (AD 994) built Dynasty County, renamed Linxiang County in 996. The highest yam mushroom mountain is 1261.1 meters above sea level, and the lowest point is 23 meters in Jiangnan valley. The Yangtze River flows through the northwest edge of the city, with a total length of 32.7 km. Taolin River, tandu River and Yuantan River meander and flow north to the Yangtze River. Evolution of organizational system
Linxiang belonged to Chu in spring and autumn and Warring States period, Changsha in Qin Dynasty, Xiajun in Changsha in Western Han Dynasty, and baling in Jin Dynasty. In the fifth year of Chunhua of Song Dynasty (994), it was upgraded to Dynasty County, and in the second year of Dao Dynasty (996), it was renamed Linxiang county.
In the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Wanghe Shangli and Xiali. In 1917, the northern section of the Guangdong Han railway was opened to traffic, and the station was set up here, so it gradually developed into a market. In 1930, the county government moved from Lucheng. Chang'an town was established in 1935 and changed to Chang'an Township in 1936. Because of the memory of the ancient capital, the name has been used all the time. In 1992, with the approval of the State Council, counties and cities were withdrawn.
On April 6, 1984, part of Linxiang county was assigned to Yueyang City. On January 27, 1986, the State Council approved (guohan No. 18): to abolish Yueyang district and put Linxiang, Huarong, Miluo and Pingjiang counties under the jurisdiction of Yueyang City. On September 1, 1992, the Ministry of Civil Affairs approved the abolition of Linxiang county and the establishment of Linxiang city. It is managed by Yueyang City.
In 1995, seven district offices in Chengnan, Changlun, Lingbei, Xinquan, Nanhu, dongtingwei and Haohe were abolished. On May 29, 2000, with the approval of Hunan provincial government, huanggaihu farm was canceled and merged into Linxiang city to form huanggai town.
