geology
Longgan Lake, which is adjacent to Longgan Lake Management area, was a land in ancient times. In the fourth century, it sank to form a water area, which was called Peng Lize in ancient times and intersected with the old road of the Yangtze River. Due to the long-term deposition of the Yangtze river alluvium, the lake bottom was gradually raised, resulting in the shrinkage of ancient penglize. Later, when the rivers and lakes separated and the Yangtze River moved southward, the name of ancient Peng Lize disappeared and was replaced by "Leishui" and "Leichi". Later, with the deposition of lake sediments and the flood alluvial deposits of the Yangtze River, "Lei Shui" further shrank, forming Taibai lake, ganhu lake, Daguan lake, Huanghu lake, Bohu lake and other lakes (Longhu Lake and ganhu lake are collectively called Longgan Lake). The strata in the area are composed of Yangtze river alluvium, lake sediments and river lake mixed sediments, belonging to Quaternary Holocene (Q4) geology.

At the end of 2007, the original 11 Lakes (Yanghu, Saihu, luchai, Jinhu, Shahu, Chaihu, Banjiu, Yangliu, Baimao, Tiane and qingni) were all named as true or false.
