Dongchangfu District has a long history. Historical evolution
It got its name because it was the seat of Dongchangfu in Ming and Qing Dynasties.
At the end of Shang Dynasty, it was the fief of Weizi, the elder brother of King Zhou.
The Western Zhou Dynasty was the realm of Guo State. During the spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period, it belonged to the state of Qi.
Qin County, known as Liaocheng, belongs to the East County. The Han Dynasty is still a Dongjun.
In the Three Kingdoms period, it belonged to Pingyuan County of Wei state, and in the Jin Dynasty, it belonged to Pingyuan state.
In the northern and Southern Dynasties, it belonged to Wei county at the beginning, and then to Pingyuan County in the Northern Wei Dynasty.
In 583, Pingyuan county was abolished. In 596, Bozhou was set up in the royal city. In the early years of Daye, Bozhou was abolished and transferred to Wuyang county.
In the fourth year of Wude of Tang Dynasty (621), Bozhou was replaced and Liaocheng was under its jurisdiction. Tang Tianbao first year (742), for Bozhou Boping county leader. After the third year of Tianyou (906), it was once changed to liaoyi, but its membership remained unchanged.
From the later Jin Dynasty and Song Dynasty to Jin Dynasty, they all belonged to Bozhou and were governed by Liaocheng.

In the first year of the Republic of China (1912), Dongchangfu was changed to jixidao, which governed Liaocheng. In the second year of the Republic of China, Jixi road was changed to Donglin Road, which is a county. In the 15th year of the Republic of China, the system of Dao level was abandoned and directly under Shandong Province. In 1937, it belonged to the Sixth District of Shandong Province.
In the 29th year of the Republic of China (1940), in memory of fan Zhuxian, the national hero who died in the Anti Japanese War, the county was renamed Zhuxian County, belonging to the fourth special office of Luxi administrative office. In 1944, it was transferred to the fourth special administrative office of Hebei, Shandong and Henan.
In 1949, Zhuxian county was abolished and Liaocheng county was restored, belonging to Liaocheng special area of plain province. In November 1952, Pingyuan province was abolished and changed to Liaocheng district of Shandong Province.
