Its boundary is Yishan fault in the East, sunshidian fault in the west, Wensi fault in the north and Fushan fault in the south. Yanzhou is a part of it. The basement is metamorphic rock series of Taishan Group. Paleozoic, Mesozoic and Cenozoic strata are developed above the basement. There are abundant industrial coal seams in the late Paleozoic strata, which is an important base of national coal resources. The tectonic movement in the territory has shaped different forms of tectonic topography, which can be roughly divided into two types: fault structure and fold structure. All strata in the territory are developed, from old to new, including early Paleozoic strata, Paleozoic strata, Mesozoic strata and Cenozoic strata. In the early Paleozoic, the environment was in a slow decline state, with large-scale transgression and deposition of thick shallow sea sand shale and carbonate rocks. The Ordovician rocks of Paleozoic are mainly light gray, gray thick bedded limestone, crystalline limestone and leopard like limestone; the Carboniferous rocks are mainly gray white siltstone, claystone, shale and thin limestone, intercalated with several layers of coal; the Permian rocks are mainly gray white, dark gray sandstone, variegated mudstone and brown shale, rich in plant fossils. The Mesozoic Jurassic rocks are mainly brown sandstone, conglomerate, variegated mudstone and glutenite. The Cenozoic consists of tertiary and Quaternary strata. The tertiary is composed of sandstone, clayey sandstone and mudstone, while the Quaternary is composed of loose rock, which is composed of Wensi alluvial proluvial deposit. In the west is the Wenhe alluvial proluvial fan, and in the East is the Sihe alluvial proluvial fan.
