In 1993, "three townships and one town" of Lingxi, Chaoyang, Qinfeng and Shaxi were included in Shangrao City (now Xinzhou District). On August 5, 1998, wufushan comprehensive reclamation farm in Shangrao area was abolished, wufushan town and Gaozhou Township were established and put under the jurisdiction of Shangrao County.
