Ruijin Ruijin, a county-level city directly under the central government of Jiangxi Province and managed by Ganzhou City, is located in the southeast of Jiangxi Province, the east of Ganzhou City, the West foot of the southern section of Wuyi Mountains, and the upstream of Gongshui, the East source of Ganjiang River. It borders Changting County, Longyan City, Fujian Province in the East, Huichang County in the south, Yudu County in the west, Ningdu County in the north and Shicheng County in the northeast. Ruijin has a total area of 2441.4 square kilometers, with 7 towns and 10 townships under its jurisdiction. In 2019, the registered residence population was 709737.
Ruijin is a city of red and green. Ruijin is the famous old red capital, the cradle of the Republic, the residence of the CPC Central Committee during the period of the Central Soviet Area, the birthplace of the Provisional Central Government of the Chinese Soviet Republic, one of the starting points of the 25000 mile long march of the Central Red Army, the national education base of patriotism and revolutionary tradition, and a red tourism city in China. On May 27, 2014, Ruijin city was listed in the pilot of system reform of counties directly under Jiangxi Province. In July 2015, with the official approval of the National Tourism Administration, Ruijin cradle scenic spot became the seventh scenic spot in Jiangxi and the first 5A scenic spot in Ganzhou. In August 2015, the State Council agreed to list Ruijin as a national historical and cultural city. Historical evolution
Ruijin region belongs to Wu in spring and Autumn period and Yue in early Warring States period. After Chu destroyed Yue, the whole territory returned to Chu. After the Qin Dynasty, it belonged to Jiujiang county. The Western Han Dynasty belongs to Yuzhang county. Gaozu six years (201 BC) for Yudu County jurisdiction. In the seventh year of Jian'an in the Eastern Han Dynasty (202), Xianghu town was established, which was subordinate to Yudu county. It was in Yudu county during the Three Kingdoms, the two Jin Dynasties, the northern and Southern Dynasties, and the Sui Dynasty.
In the first year of Tang Tianyou (904), Ruijin prison was set up in Xianghu Town, Yudu county. The name of Ruijin began from this. It was named after "digging for gold, gold is auspicious".
In the Five Dynasties, in the 11th year of Baoda in the Southern Tang Dynasty (953), Ruijin county was changed to Ruijin County, which was subordinate to the Zhaoxin army in the west of Jiangnan.
In the eighth year of Kaibao of Song Dynasty (975), Zhaoxin army was changed into Junzhou, and Ruijin was still under its jurisdiction. In the third year of Zhidao (997), the whole country was divided into 15 roads, Rui metal Jiangnan Road Qianzhou. In the fourth year of Tianxi (1020), Jiangnan Road was divided into East Road and West Road, and Rui metal Jiangnan West Road was built in Qianzhou. In the 23rd year of Shaoxing (1153), Qianzhou was changed to Ganzhou, which was the capital of Ruizhou.
In the 14th year of the Yuan Dynasty (1277), Jiangxi was set up to travel to Zhongshu Province, Ganzhou was changed into a road, and Rui metal Ganzhou road was built. In the first year of Dade of Yuan Dynasty (1297), Ganzhou road set up huichangzhou and governed Ruijin.
In the second year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty (1369), Ganzhou road was changed into a mansion and Ruijin was under its jurisdiction. Hongwu nine years (1376), set up Jiangxi minister department, leading Ganzhou Prefecture, Ruijin County under Ganzhou Prefecture. In the early Qing Dynasty, it was made in the Ming Dynasty. In the 19th year of Qianlong (1754), Ningdu was set up as Zhili Prefecture, which governed Ruijin county.
In the first year of the Republic of China (1912), the national administrative system was divided into four levels: Central, provincial, Dao, and county. In Jiangxi Province, there were four Dao, and Ruijin county was Gannan Dao. In 1926, Ruijin county was put under the jurisdiction of the sixth administrative region of Jiangxi Province.
In April 1930, the peasant uprising in Ruijin succeeded in overthrowing the county government of the Republic of China. In June of the same year, the county Revolutionary Committee was established. Later, the Chinese workers' and peasants' Red Army carried out the central revolutionary base with Ruijin as the center. In November 1931, the Provisional Central Government of the Soviet Republic of China was established in Ruijin. Ruijin county was set up as a county directly under the central government.
In October of 1934, the main force of the red army retreated to the north, and the central government of the Soviet Republic of China withdrew. Ruijin County returned to the jurisdiction of Jiangxi provincial government and belonged to the 12th administrative region. In April 1935, Jiangxi provincial government divided Jiangxi Province into eight administrative regions, and Ruijin county was the eighth.
On August 23, 1949, the Chinese people's Liberation Army liberated Ruijin and subordinate it to Ningdu special region. On August 291952, Ningdu district was abolished and Ruijin county was transferred to Ganzhou district. In June 1954, Ganzhou district was changed into Gannan administrative region, still under the jurisdiction of Ruijin county. In May 1964, Gannan administrative region was renamed Ganzhou special region and lingruijin county. In February 1971, Ganzhou district was changed to Ganzhou District, which governs Ruijin county.
On May 18, 1994, the State Council of the people's Republic of China approved the abolition of Ruijin county and the establishment of Ruijin city. The jurisdiction and administrative level remain unchanged and still belong to Ganzhou.
In the winter of 1998, after the State Council approved the abolition of Ganzhou area and the establishment of prefecture level Ganzhou City, the people's Government of Jiangxi Province approved on February 14, 1999 that Ruijin city should be under the jurisdiction of the province and Ganzhou city should be under the administration of the province.
In May 2014, with the approval of the provincial Party committee and the provincial government, Ruijin city became one of the pilot projects of the system reform of counties (cities) directly under the provincial government (with the same division, it still belongs to Ganzhou City).
On July 29, 2018, Ruijin city officially lifted out of poverty and withdrew from the poverty City sequence.

On April 5, 1987, Ruilin township of Ruijin county was divided into Ruilin Township and Dingpi township. On December 10, 1988, Rentian Township and Xiefang Township were abolished and Rentian town and Xiefang town were established.
On November 17, 1993, Jiubao Township, Ruilin Township and Shazhouba Township were abolished and Jiubao Town, Ruilin town and Shazhouba town were established. At the end of 2004, Ruijin city had 7 towns and 10 townships: Xianghu Town, Ruilin Town, Rentian Town, Jiubao Town, Shazhouba Town, Xiefang Town, Wuyang Town, Yeping Town, Dingpi Town, dabidi Town, gangmian Town, Ridong Town, Wantian Town, Huangbai town, Yunshishan Town, Zeqin town and baying town. On July 23, 2007, with the approval of the provincial people's government, Baizhu village, baying Township, Ruijin city was put under the jurisdiction of Wuyang town and merged into sutian village, Wuyang town.

The main vein of Wuyishan in the southeast border is long, surrounded by Zihua mountain, huoyanzhang and Tianziling in the northwest, forming the terrain of high mountains in the East, North and West, and gradually decreasing to the middle and southwest, forming Ruijin basin with Xianghu town as the center, which is one of the four major basins in Jiangxi Province. Ruijin is located on the west side of the southern section of Wuyi Mountains, with high terrain around and low terrain in the middle. The highest peak is located in sanxiandong, on the northeast border, with an altitude of 1232.9 meters. The lowest point is located at Shijiao, the exit of Mianjiang River on the southwest edge, with an altitude of 162 meters. Ruijin city is a tributary water system with 254 rivers and streams, with a total flow of 1818.7 km. The density of river network is 0.76 km per square kilometer. Except for two streams in baying Township flowing into zhuotan River in Changting County, Fujian Province, all the other streams flow into Gongjiang river. The main rivers are Mianjiang River, Jiubao River and Meijiang river. Mianjiang river originates from shiliaodong in Dongxiang, which is the main source of Ganjiang River. The river flows from the northeast to the southwest, enters Huichang county through Ridong, Rentian, Yeping, Xianghu, Zeqin, Wuyang, Xiefang and other towns, joins Xiangshui River to form Gongjiang River and flows into Ganjiang River. The river is 130 km long, 119 km long and 30-160 m wide, with a drainage area of 1599.6 square kilometers. The energy reserves of the river are 13.14 million kilowatts, the exploitable energy is 76000 kilowatts, and the annual power generation can reach 250 million kilowatt hours.
