Baotuo Temple
Baotuo Buddhist temple is located in Weiyuan city on the top of Zhaobao mountain. In 1557, Hu Zongxian, the governor of Zhejiang Province, ordered his troops to go to the island to fight against the enemy. He moved the temple to Zhenhai. Hu Zongxian, his governor, LuBang Town, Zhang Ding county magistrate and song Jizu donated part of the funds. In addition to the money raised by monks, Baotuo Buddhist temple was built on the top of Zhaobao mountain. With the revival of Putuo Mountain Temple, many pilgrims went to Putuo Mountain to worship. However, the incense of Baoyuan temple did not stop, especially on the day of the birth, becoming a monk and becoming a Taoist of Guanyin on February 19, June 19 and September 19 of the lunar calendar.
In 1553, the temple was destroyed by Japanese pirates. In 1557, Hu Zongxian, governor of Zhejiang Province, moved Baotuo temple to Zhaobaoshan in Beilun District, so the temple is also called Buyuan. Baotuo temple is famous for its incense, especially Guanyin Taoist temple. Every February 19, June 19 and September 19 of the lunar calendar, on the day when Guanyin was born, became a monk and became a Taoist, believers came to Zhaobaoshan to worship Buddha. After generations of migration and reconstruction, the statue of Guanyin still retains the characteristics of the Tang Dynasty. Guanyin wears a Pilu hat, which is called "Pilu Guanyin".
Baotuo temple has been destroyed for several times. At the beginning of liberation, there were three main halls (Tianwang hall, Luohan hall, Yuantong Hall) and dozens of monks and guest rooms. It was repaired once in 1965, and the wing rooms of the king's hall and Luohan hall were demolished the day after tomorrow for other purposes. In 1981 and 1985, the provincial and county governments allocated more than 300000 yuan twice to renovate the Yuantong hall, rebuild the statue of Buddha, rebuild the Guanyin Pavilion, call monks and nuns to take care of the temple property and open the temple. In 1981, it was listed as the county's key cultural relics protection unit. There are 9 monks and 1 Yanni.
