Shandong Yuanyin temple is located in Weishan, Shengjing Town, Zhangqiu, Jinan City. It is the first temple named after Yuanyin old man in China. It's a pure and solemn Daoist place for the spread of Buddhism.

Temple History

Since the emergence of temples in the Han Dynasty, it has experienced the Tang and Song Dynasties, and until the Ming and Qing Dynasties, there are many temples and steles. In order to protect historical relics, carry forward Buddhist culture and benefit the public, with the full support of the government, Li Changji, an old man with great virtue and vowels, bought land in the dangerous mountain and made a great wish to rebuild the ancient temple. Since May 2002, it has been rebuilt with the architectural structure and style of Buddhist temples in Qing Dynasty. Yuanyin temple is the abbot of contemporary Dade Shangda Xiazhao. On March 1, 2011, the two orders of Yuanyin Temple welcomed master Dazhao to Jinyuan.

Temple pattern

With an altitude of 205 meters and an area of more than 10000 mu, Weishan mountain is known as "xiaotai mountain" in history. It is named after Weiyue swallow, which is located between Qi and Lu, and corresponds to Xuanwu Qisu in the 28su area. "Historical records" records: "North Palace Xuanwu dangerous virtual, Qi is also divided "No peace in the three realms is like a fire house". The name of dangerous mountain just tells people to work hard and become Buddhists early.

There are many cultural relics and historic sites in Weishan scenic area. Now, the well, terracotta warriors, stone tortoise, merit Monument and so on are well preserved.

"Towering dangerous mountain, Holy Well", this sentence is the famous Zhangqiu eight scenery head - Holy well. Shengjing Town, where Yuanyin temple is located, also gets its name from this well. It is said that at the end of the Sui Dynasty, there was a severe drought, and there was no rain for three years in the dangerous mountain area, which made the people miserable. One day, a holy monk came to mourn the sufferings of the common people, so he vibrated Xizhuo's land and springs into a well. The common people were grateful and called it "Holy Well". As the stars change, the holy monk does not know where to go, leaving behind a sweet education for posterity. The inexhaustible water of great sorrow is still moistening the hearts of the world.

With the joint efforts of believers and engineers, by the end of 2002, the restoration project of the main halls in the north area of Yuanyin temple has been successfully completed, including the mountain gate, Tianwang hall, Daxiong hall, Zushi Hall of Xinzhong, Yuanyin tower, bell and Drum Tower, Zen hall, Zhaitang hall, faliutong office, Liaofang, etc. Its purpose is to restore and protect the original holy land of Buddhist culture, at the same time, respond to the call of the party and the state, and guide the local people with Buddhist belief to gradually establish the right knowledge and view from burning incense and worshiping Buddha, so as to improve the ability to identify and eliminate all evil laws. At the same time, the completion of the temple also made the Buddhists who really wanted to live and get rid of death have a place for pure practice.

2. Start from Jinan railway station, take brt5, transfer to brt971 in the east of Yanshan interchange, and get off at Shengjing dangerous mountain.

3. Long distance bus terminal: buy a ticket to Zhangqiu university town and get off at Shengjing dangerous mountain. Or take K68 to Qianfo Mountain station and transfer to K301.

1. After entering the temple, you can worship the Buddha first, and then apply for admission. The residents should be healthy and have no serious heart disease or infectious diseases such as tuberculosis or hepatitis B.

2. Check in with valid personal documents (such as ID card, work card or conversion card, etc.). Please keep your valuables properly. If you lose them, you will be responsible for them. Dangerous goods and pets are not allowed to enter the temple.

3. Do not engage in activities in violation of national laws and regulations in temples. It is forbidden to browse and read unhealthy books, electronic documents, web pages, etc. It is forbidden to gather people to give lectures, distribute propaganda films and books in the temple. You can't tell fortune by looking at faces. You're bewildered.

4. Those who live in the temple must abide by the work and rest time. Keep quiet in the temple. Do not talk loudly or swear. Do not affect other people's rest and practice. It is not allowed to gossip about home affairs, discuss other people's cultivation level, or state of mind.

5. If you want to go out, you need to ask for leave, and close the doors and windows, electrical appliances. Without permission, you are not allowed to leave the temple to play in the mountains.
