Huanggang port is located in Futian District, Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province, opposite to Lok Ma Chau port in the new territories of Hong Kong. It is one of the five first-line ports between Shenzhen and Hong Kong. Huanggang port is the largest comprehensive highway port for passenger and freight transport in China, and one of the largest land ports in China. It is the third largest passenger transport port in China after Gongbei port in Zhuhai.
Huanggang Port
Huanggang port is a port connecting Shenzhen city of Guangdong Province and Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Located in the south of Shenzhen City, it is the only all-weather port in Shenzhen city.
Huanggang port started construction in May 1985. It was approved by the State Council of the people's Republic of China on November 30, 1988 and opened to the outside world. On January 27, 2003, Huanggang port implemented 24-hour customs clearance through travel inspection channels.

Historical evolution
In 1982, Shenzhen and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region reached an agreement to jointly open the Huanggang Lok Ma Chau cross-border passage.
In May 1985, construction of Huanggang port began.
On November 30, 1988, with the approval of the State Council of the people's Republic of China, Huanggang port was opened to the outside world.
On December 29, 1989, the freight part of Huanggang port was opened to traffic.
On August 8, 1991, Huanggang port opened for passenger transport.
On November 3, 1994, Huanggang port opened two cargo inspection channels for trial 24-hour customs clearance, and set up a special channel for empty vehicle inspection and release.
On March 20, 1997, Huanggang port opened Huanggang Lok Ma Chau shuttle bus service.
In October 1999, Huanggang port implemented the natural separation of freight cars for customs clearance.
On January 27, 2003, Huanggang port implemented 24-hour customs clearance through travel inspection channel. On October 8, Huanggang port allowed private cars, official cars and business cars holding the license plates of Wenjindu and Shatoujiao ports to enter and leave the country from 0:00 to 6:30.
In 2006, Huanggang port reconstruction project was established.
In March 2007, Huanggang port was reconstructed.
In July 2011, the transformation of "Che Gang City" in Huanggang port exit area was completed and put into operation.
In January 2016, the bidding for Huanggang port reconstruction project was completed.
On September 29, 2017, the new self-service inspection channel of Huanggang port exit hall was completed and put into use.
On July 9, 2018, Huanggang port entry hall opened a new self-service customs clearance record information collection point.
On the 13th, the LED display screen was put into use at the inspection site of entry-exit small (passenger) vehicles at Huanggang port.

Location context
Huanggang port is located at the south end of Futian District, Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province, China. It is across the river from Lok Ma Chau, the new territories of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. The Huanggang Lok Ma Chau Bridge in the south of the port crosses the Shenzhen River and connects Shenzhen and Hong Kong. It is 3.5km and 1km away from Futian Mangrove ecological park and Futian port in the west, and 700m away from Huanggang customs in the East.

Huanggang port is divided into supervision area, living area and commercial service area; among them, the regional supervision area is divided into East and West sites, the East site is the goods inspection site, and the West site is the bus and travel inspection site. The east side of the freight inspection yard is the entry inspection yard, and the west side is the exit inspection yard; the travel inspection hall is arranged in the east-west direction, with the east side of the entry hall, the west side of the exit hall, and the two sides of the hall are bus passages.

Huanggang port covers an area of 1016000 square meters, including 653000 square meters of supervision area, 68000 square meters of living area and 295000 square meters of commercial service area. The designed carrying capacity of Huanggang port is 50000 vehicles (standard vehicles) and 50000 passengers per day.
