Shuangyashan City, also known as coal city, is a prefecture level city in Heilongjiang Province. The city has 4 municipal districts and 4 counties, with a total area of 22050.927 square kilometers, 1 million 407 thousand registered residence households, 920 thousand urban residents, and 65.35% registered residence population.
Shuangyashan City is located in Northeast China, northeast of Heilongjiang Province, low mountains and hills at the north foot of Wandashan mountains, the vast hinterland of Sanjiang Plain in the north, continuous mountains in the south, high in the southwest and low in the northeast, and Russia across the Wusuli River in the East.
Within 300 kilometers around Shuangyashan, there are six first-class ports to Russia, including Raohe, Suibin, Luobei, Tongjiang, Fuyuan and Fujin. It is located in the core area of Heilongjiang Province, which is open to the Russian Far East. It is an important node city for the construction of "China Mongolia Russia economic corridor". Raohe port is a national first-class port. Raohe Sino Russian trade zone and Sida Sino Russian International Trade Center have been put into operation. A Sino Russian International Cultural logistics and economic and Trade Industrial Park is under construction to build an import and export processing base with Russia and a national trade distribution base with Russia. International passenger and freight transport lines from Shuangyashan to Khabarovsk and from Shuangyashan to birobijan have been opened one after another.

Historical evolution
In Shang and Zhou dynasties, Shuangyashan area was the activity area of ancient Sushen people.
In the middle of the Western Han Dynasty, Sushen changed his name to yilou.
Yilou was renamed Wuji in the northern and Southern Dynasties and the Northern Wei Dynasty, and Shuangyashan area belongs to the Wuji frenne tribe.
In the Sui Dynasty, Wuji in the east of Heilongjiang River Basin was renamed as "Pei".
In Tang Dynasty, Shuangyashan area belonged to Huaiyuan Prefecture of Bohai State.
In Liao Dynasty, Shuangyashan area belonged to the five kingdoms of Nuzhen.
In Jin Dynasty, Shuangyashan area was under the jurisdiction of Shangjing road.
In the early Yuan Dynasty, Shuangyashan area was under the jurisdiction of Kaiyuan Road in Liaoyang province. In the middle of the Yuan Dynasty, it was changed to shuidada road in Helan Prefecture.
In the Ming Dynasty, Shuangyashan belonged to Si Fu Ti Wei, the capital of nuergan.
In the early Qing Dynasty, Shuangyashan area was under the jurisdiction of Shengjing angbang Zhangjing. Shunzhi ten years (1653) analysis set ningguta angbang Zhangjing, as its jurisdiction. The first year of Kangxi (1662) changed the ningguta angbang Zhangjing to the general guarding ningguta and other places, still under the jurisdiction of ningguta general. In 1676, the general of ningguta moved to Wula (now Jilin City) of Jilin Province in the 15th year of Kangxi reign, and set up ningguta vice capital Series in ningguta city (now Ning'an county), which is directly under the jurisdiction of ningguta vice capital series. On the 22nd of the first month of the 32nd year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu (1906), Yilan Prefecture was established in Sanxing District, and Linjiang Prefecture was established in halasusu district (now Tongjiang County). Shuangyashan district was under the jurisdiction of Linjiang Prefecture. In 1907, the general of Jilin was abolished and Jilin Province was established. On April 15, 1909, the first year of Xuantong (1909), the three surnames of vice Dutong were removed. The first year of the Republic of China (1912) followed the Qing system. On January 23, 1913, the government of the Republic of China decided to abolish the provincial system of Dao, Fu, Ting and Zhou. The system of province, Dao and county was implemented in the whole country. Shuangyashan area was under the jurisdiction of Yilan Road, Fujin County, Jilin Province. In 1931, after the September 18th Incident, Japanese imperialists occupied Northeast China. The following year, Fujin county was occupied. In 1934, Shuangyashan area was under the jurisdiction of Fujin County, Sanjiang province. On August 15, 1945, Japan surrendered and the Northeast recovered. On November 21, the Communist Party of China established the Hejiang provincial government in Jiamusi. On June 10, 1946, Hejiang provincial government established Jixian County in the southwest of Fujin county (the fourth and fifth districts), and Shuangyashan area was under the jurisdiction of Jixian County. On June 5, 1947, Hejiang provincial government established Shuangyashan Mining Bureau, a provincial enterprise, in Lingdong, Shuangyashan (formerly Fu'an coal mine).
In 1949, Shuangyashan Mining Bureau moved from Lingdong to Jianshan. On April 21, Hejiang province was merged into Songjiang Province, and Shuangyashan Mining Bureau was transferred to the leadership of Songjiang Provincial Department of industry.
In March 1951, Shuangyashan Mining Bureau changed from a "provincial" enterprise to a "state-owned" enterprise, under the leadership of the coal mine administration bureau of the industry department of the Northeast People's government.
In December 1953, the Northeast Administrative Committee approved the establishment of a mining area people's government at the county level in Shuangyashan Mining Area (formally established in July 1954), with Shuangyashan area in Jixian County as its administrative region and under the direct leadership of Songjiang province.
In August 1954, Songjiang province was merged into Heilongjiang Province, and Shuangyashan Mining Area was under the jurisdiction of Heilongjiang Province.
On May 25, 1956, by the decision of the State Council, Shuangyashan Mining Area was abolished and Shuangyashan City was established. The administrative region of Shuangyashan Mining Area was the administrative region of Shuangyashan City, which was directly under the central government of Heilongjiang Province.
On August 16, 1958, by the decision of the State Council, Shuangyashan City was changed from the province directly under the central government to Hejiang special administration.
On February 8, 1966, the Heilongjiang provincial Party committee and the provincial people's Committee of the Communist Party of China decided to change Shuangyashan City from Hejiang special office to a province directly under the central government.
On March 29, 1967, Shuangyashan Revolutionary Committee was established to replace Shuangyashan people's Committee, which was led by Heilongjiang Provincial Revolutionary Committee.
On September 22, 1980, Shuangyashan Revolutionary Committee was changed into Shuangyashan people's government, led by Heilongjiang Provincial People's government. The administrative division of Shuangyashan City began with the approval of the Northeast administrative committee to establish the people's Government of Shuangyashan Mining Area in December 1953. On November 6, 1987, with the approval of the State Council, Jixian County of Jiamusi city was put under the jurisdiction of Shuangyashan City, and Lingdong district and Lingxi district were merged into Lingdong district. On December 4, the provincial government decided to put Qixing Town of Youyi County under the jurisdiction of Shuangyashan City.
On February 2, 1991, with the approval of the State Council, Baoqing county and Youyi County of Jiamusi City were put under the jurisdiction of Shuangyashan City.
On August 1, 1993, with the approval of the State Council, Raohe County of Jiamusi city was put under the jurisdiction of Shuangyashan City.
