[plant morphology] climbing vine
Vines evergreen or semi evergreen. Branchlets and petioles setose; tendrils with sucker. Palmately compound, alternate. They are petiolate, 1.5-3 cm long, 3-5 leaflets without petioles, rhomboid obovate, 1.5-3 cm long, apex short pointed, margin serrate, teeth spiny. Umbels axillary, heterozygous. There are slender total pedicels, 1.5-2.5 cm long, small flowers are green, small pedicels are slender, slightly unequal, flowers have 4 cardinal numbers, petals are expanded; there is no style, stigma is 4-lobed, disk is combined with ovary base. Berry, spherical obovate, 6 mm long, containing 2-4 seeds. The flowering period is from June to August. The fruiting period is October.
It grows on the warm and wet mountain rock cliff or in the forest. It is distributed in the middle and southwest of China.
