Deciduous trees, up to 10 meters high. Twigs and winter buds with brown yellow hairs. Leaflets 7-13, ovate or ovate elliptic, 4-10 cm long and 2-3 cm wide, apex acuminate, base oblique, round to broadly cuneate, entire, sparsely pilose or nearly smooth above, yellow pilose below, lateral veins 18-25 pairs prominent; petioles short, hairy. Panicle lateral; pedicel densely brown yellow hairy; flowers small, yellow; dioecious or unisexual flowers coexist with bisexual flowers; calyx 5-lobed; petals 5; stamens 5, incomplete in female flowers; ovary sessile, superior, 1-locular, style 3. Drupe oblique and flat, wider than high, transverse diameter about 8 mm, light brown yellow, smooth glabrous. The flowering period is from May to June. The fruit ripens from September to October.

Born in the wild. It is distributed in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Fujian, Taiwan, Jiangxi, Hubei, Hunan, Guizhou, Sichuan, etc.
