[plant morphology] Cassia obtusifolia
Herbs perennial, 18-50 cm high, glabrous. Its leaflets are elliptic or slightly rhombic in shape, 4-7 cm long and 1.5-3 cm wide, with blunt or acute apex, cuneate base, glabrous above and silky hairs extending below; its stipules are very large, leaflike, ovate to lanceolate, 2.5-5 cm long and 1.2-2.5 cm wide. Peanut in the top of the branch, yellow, alternate, arranged in sparse racemes; calyx upper two lobes almost healed, lower three lobes separated; corolla butterfly; stamens 10, separated; bracts lanceolate. Pods linear, 5-6 cm long, 0.6-0.7 cm wide, dark brown, with soft hairs. The flowering period is from April to May.
Born on the sunny hillside. It is distributed in the north and south of China.
[collection] harvest in summer and autumn.
[chemical constituents] the aerial part contains 0.5% of total alkaloids, among which there are flavone, genistein, pachydrine, etc. The content of total alkaloids in pods and seeds was 0.56% and 0.72%, respectively.
It's poisonous.
[channel tropism] entering lung and stomach channels.
Functions and indications: detoxification, detumescence, expectorant and emetic. Treatment of scabies.
[usage and dosage] for external use: tamping or grinding. Oral: 1 ~ 2 yuan, use with caution.
