Erect shrub, 1-2 m high, branches covered with gray pubescence. Leaves opposite; petiolate; ovate or obovate or elliptic, 2.5-8 cm long, apex obtuse, base cuneate, entire. Bald. Inflorescence axillary, with 3-7 flowers; peduncle 1-4 cm long; bracts linear, less than 1 mm long; calyx truncate, 4-5 mm long, nearly bald or gray pubescent, bearing slightly enlarged, surrounding the base of drupe; corolla white, tube weak, 2.5-3 cm long, lobes oblong, about 8 mm long; stamen 4, filaments red purple, protruding; pistil 1, ovary position, Style filiform, protruding, stigma 2-lobed. Drupe obovate, ca. 12 mm long, ca. 8 mm wide, spongy. It blooms in summer.
