[plant morphology] monochamus latifolia
Perennial herbs, 0.3-1.2 m high. The stem is erect with branches in the middle and upper parts. Leaves oblong lanceolate or broadly elliptic, apex short pointed, base cuneate, margin sparsely serrate, basal leaves long petiole, upper stem leaves sessile, bracteate. Racemes arranged in panicles; flowers small, petals 4, white. The fruit is oblate. Seeds broadly elliptic, flat, smooth.
Born in Tianbian, Digeng, Goubian, river valley. It is distributed in Gansu, Qinghai and Ningxia.
The seeds of this plant are also used as seeds of Lepidium in Gansu Province. See "Lepidium".

Functions and indications: clearing away heat and drying dampness. Treatment of bacillary dysentery, enteritis.
