[plant morphology] black water poppy

Annual herbs, about 40 cm high, the whole plant dense bristles, rich in milk, broken white pulp. The root leaves are tufted and pinnate. The flowers are beautiful, large, white, and solitary on a long stalk. Capsule ovate, porose. The flowering period is from June to July.

Born in the wild or on the roadside. It is distributed in Northeast China.

[nature and taste] sour and astringent, slightly cold, toxic.

[function indications] analgesic, antidiarrheal, antitussive. Treatment of abdominal pain, enteritis, diarrhea, dysentery, menstrual pain, headache, long cough, wheezing.

[usage and dosage] oral: decoction, 0.5 ~ 2 yuan.

[taboo] the whole plant of this product is poisonous, and the appearance of poisoning is the same as that of poppy shell.
