[plant morphology] Veronica ciliata
Annual herb, about 20 cm high, whole plant covered with gray white pilose. The stem is erect, thin and firm, many unbranched. Leaves opposite: sessile; leaves ovate or ovate lanceolate, 2-4 cm long, 0.5-1 cm wide, serrated or crenulate, green above and light purple brown below. Flowers densely arranged in terminal head, densely white villous; flowers small, radial, blue purple; bracts nearly as long as calyx; sepals 4, oblong; petals 4, broader. Capsule ovoid oblong, hairy, apex concave, as long as persistent calyx or longer.
Born in the valley, field. It is distributed in Sichuan, Tibet and other places.

Bitter and astringent, cold.
Functions and indications: clearing away heat and toxin, dispelling wind and dampness. Treatment of hepatitis, cholecystitis, rheumatic pain, urticaria.
