Dunsheng grass
(commonly used Chinese herbal medicine in Tibet)

[source] it is the root of Cypripedium tibetanum.
[plant morphology] Cypripedium Xizang
Herbaceous, 30-45 cm high. Rhizome short, with many slender fibrous roots, yellowish brown. Stem erect with 3-5 leaves. Leaves alternate, elliptic, apex short acuminate, base narrowed into sheath embracing stem, entire, dark green above, light green below, both sides covered with fine hairs. Flowers large, 1, terminal; sepals and petals are orange yellow, with many purple veins, lip saccate, red purple. The flowering period is from May to July.
On wet hillsides and forest margins. Distributed in Tibet and other places.

[function indications] diuresis, detumescence, pain relief, blood circulation. Treatment of rheumatism, lumbago, lower limb edema, traumatic injury, gonorrhea, leucorrhea.
