Pheasant and root
(Chinese Herbal Medicine News)
[source] it is the root and rhizome of Potentilla raspberry. See "chiziyan" for plant morphology.
[collection] it can be collected all year round, washed and dried in the sun.
[chemical constituents] it contains d-catechin.
[pharmacological action] d-catechin has vitamin P-like effect. It can reduce the permeability and fragility of capillaries, and enhance their resistance to trauma; that is, it has a certain role in maintaining the function of normal capillaries. In guinea pigs, d-catechin (1 mg / 300 g body weight by intraperitoneal injection or 5 mg / 800 g body weight by oral administration) has stronger capillary enhancing effect than flavonoids such as rutin, and has two peaks, which may not only delay the oxidation of epinephrine in vivo, but also have vitamin C-like effect. In vitro, d-catechin has stronger inhibitory effect on histidine decarboxylase than flavonoids, so it may have anti anaphylactic shock effect. In addition, it seems to have some excitatory effects on isolated guinea pig uterus. The toxicity to mice is very small (intravenous injection 1-1.5 g / kg, no toxic reaction). The median lethal dose of the alcohol extract from the root of pheasant was 4.2 g / kg.
[function indications] take orally to stop bleeding.
[clinical application] to treat various kinds of bleeding
The alcohol extract of the root of pheasant was used to prepare tablets (1g crude drug / tablet), which were taken 3 times a day, 2-4 tablets each time. According to more than 400 cases reported, including: 1. 353 cases of general gynecological bleeding (including functional uterine bleeding, uterine fibroids bleeding, simple menorrhagia, chronic pelvic inflammatory disease menorrhagia, postpartum lochia unclean and other 15 kinds of bleeding), the effective rate was 86.3%, the markedly effective rate was 58.7%. The effective rate was 82.5%, and the markedly effective rate was 65.8%. Three tuberculosis hemoptysis 14 cases, 7 cases effective, 4 cases markedly effective. The above effective refers to the slow effect or less than half of the blood loss after taking the medicine; the markedly effective refers to the more than half or stop of the blood loss within 1-3 days. No obvious side effects were found in clinic. Some patients had poor appetite, abdominal distension, dizziness and other phenomena, which disappeared after drug withdrawal.
