Small evergreen trees, up to 5-6 m high. It has many branches and a semicircular crown. The leaflets are 3-5, leathery and glossy, with a long apex, smaller leaflets on both sides, and a pair of smaller leaflets at the base. The leaflets are sessile, narrowly elliptic to narrowly elliptic lanceolate, 5-8 cm long. The apex is obtuse or obtuse, entire or slightly pointed, and the base is cuneate and downward. The flowers are monoecious and hermaphroditic. They are axillary panicles, 6-12 cm in length. They are small, spherical, fragrant, 2 mm in diameter, with short stalks. The sepals are 5, green. The petals are 5, yellow. The stamens are 5, the filaments are tubular, and the anthers are in the tube. The pistils are 1, 1-2-locular, and the ovules are 1-5. Berry, ovate or subglobose, 10-12 mm long, with scattered stellate scales on the surface. The flowering period is from July to August.
