Erect shrub, 2-3m high. Stems and branches opposite; young branches gray green, hairy; old branches red purple, bald. Single leaf opposite; long ovate, 4-10 cm long, 1-5 cm wide, apex acuminate, base cuneate, margin serrate, lateral veins 3-5, both sides hairy; petiole about 1 cm long. Flowers solitary or racemose, white; calyx and petals 4 each. Capsule ovoid. The seeds are numerous.
Born in the mountains and sparse forests. It is distributed in Yunnan, Guizhou and other places.
