[plant morphology] fufangteng, also known as creeping Euonymus.
Evergreen or semi evergreen shrubs, creeping or climbing, ca. 1. 5 m tall. Fine roots and tubercles usually grow on the branches. Leaves opposite, broadly elliptic or elliptic ovate to long elliptic obovate, 2.5-8 cm long and 1.5-4 cm wide, apex acute or short acute, base broadly cuneate, margin serrate, thick or slightly leathery, upper veins slightly protruding, lower veins very obvious; petiole short. Cymes axillary; sepals 4; petals 4, greenish white, suborbicular, ca. 2 mm in diam., stamens 4, inserted on disk margin; ovary superior, connate with disk. Capsule globose.
