Perennial herbs, 30-100 cm high. Stem erect, solitary or several stems clustered, densely covered with white wool. The basal leaves are larger, obovate lanceolate, 8-12 cm long and 2.5-3 cm wide; the stem leaves are alternate, sessile, obovate lanceolate, gradually narrowed upward, 4-9 cm long and 1-2.5 cm wide, apex pointed, base gradually narrowed into pterygoid petiole and embracing stem. The flower stem is about 34 cm high, with head like inflorescence, discoid, compound corymbose, involucre 5-6 rows, white and light red halo. Achene small, long elliptic, 1 row of crown hairs, flowering in late autumn and early winter.

It grows in grass on hillside and roadside. It is distributed in Yunnan, Guizhou and Guangxi.
