Plant morphology of Aconitum carmichaeli
Small perennial herbs, up to 50 cm tall. The tuberous roots are usually 2-3, conic, with dark brown epidermis. Stem erect, less branched, purple blue. The leaves are alternate, the leaves are nearly round to kidney shaped, with long stalks. The stalks are sheathed at the base, palmately cleft, and the lobes are 1-2-lobed. Raceme terminal, occasionally axillary, peduncle short hairy; calyx 5, petaloid, short hairy, top 1 petal boat shaped, purple blue. Follicles.
Born among the rocks in the mountains. Distributed in Tibet and other places.

Bitter, cold and poisonous.
Functions and indications: clearing heat and removing dampness. Treatment of gastritis, hepatitis, nephritis, enteritis.
