[animal form] elk, also known as "Milu" (Zhuangzi) and "Sibuxiang" (Heilongjiang waiji).
The male weighs about 200 kg and the female weighs about 100 kg. The tail of the male is 75 cm long and that of the female is about 60 cm long. The head is like a horse, the body is like a donkey, the hoof is like an ox, and the horn is like a deer. The male has horn, the female has no horn; the horn has no eyebrow fork, the trunk is a distance from the head, divided into two branches, the front branch is divided into two branches, the back branch is long and straight, no longer bifurcated. The tail has a long tuft of hairs, and the tail end exceeds the ankle joint of the hind limb. The limbs are thick, the main hoof is wide and can be separated, and the lateral hoof is obvious. The winter hair is long and gray brown. There are reddish brown on the back of the neck, reddish white on the back of the neck and lower part of the cheek. The summer horn grows from June to July, falls off from November to December, and then produces a pair of winter horn, which falls off in March of the next year.
Elk is a specialty of our country, and it is raised in zoos. The main food is grass and aquatic plants.
