Datong town is a town under the jurisdiction of Chishui City, Zunyi City, Guizhou Province, located in the west of the city. It is 9 kilometers away from Shizhong District. It is adjacent to Xuyong and Hejiang counties in Sichuan Province. Datong belongs to the middle subtropical warm humid monsoon climate zone, with mild and moist climate, which has the superior conditions for the survival, reproduction and activities of subtropical organisms.

Basic information

Datong town is located in the west of Chishui City, 10 kilometers away from the urban area, and borders on Hejiang County, Xuyong County, Fuxing town and Cultural Office of Sichuan Province. With a total area of 105 square kilometers, the town governs 25 villages, 1 Street, 154 villager groups, 9 resident groups, 6366 households and 20041 people, including 765 households, 2121 residents and 190 Miao households, 802 people. The cultivated land area of the town is 19845 mu. Datong Town, formerly known as dadongchang, is an important town of bamboo industry and tourism. It was built and withdrawn as Datong town in 1991. According to relevant data, Datong town has a history of more than 2000 years, and is one of the 13 ancient cultural towns protected by the government in Guizhou Province.
