The origin of town name
Xieqiying, located in the northeast of Wuzhi County, was called Taining town during the Western Wei Dynasty. It was only during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty that it was renamed xieqiying. There is still a legend that Taining town was changed into Xie Qiying.
It is said that during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, an official Army came to Beijing and passed by Taining town. The military discipline of this troop is very corrupt. It burns, kills and rapes people in the places it passes by, and does all kinds of evil. The people of Taining town couldn't bear it. They rose up to resist. After a fierce battle, the officers and soldiers were killed and wounded, and the rest fled in confusion.
After the remaining officers and soldiers returned to the capital, they played to Emperor Wanli: "the people of Taining wanted to rebel, but they intercepted and killed the officers and soldiers passing by." After hearing this, the emperor was furious and immediately sent a general surnamed Xie to lead an elite army to bloody Taining town.
This general Xie is upright and meticulous. He thought: the bloody washing of Taining town is related to the lives of thousands of people. We must not act rashly. After leaving Beijing, he selected a dozen capable people to inquire about the situation in Taining town.
General Xie led the army to camp in Changcun and Yanmen, which are three kilometers north of Taining Town, in the area of Yingfeng, Xiuwu County. After listening to the real report of the spies, general Xie was surprised: the situation is just the opposite of what the officers and soldiers played. For the sake of prudence, he visited Taining town in person. After several days of investigation, he finally found out the truth. It turned out that it was not the ordinary people of Taining town who rebelled. They were forced to defend themselves only because they could not bear the humiliation of the officers and soldiers. The officers and soldiers were killed, and they deserved what they deserved.
After general Xie returned to the camp, he sent people to inform the people of Taining town about the lies of the officers and soldiers in the court and the purpose of today's officers and soldiers, hoping to change the name of Taining Town, so as to show that Taining town no longer exists after being bloody washed by the officers and soldiers, so as to hand over to the emperor.
The people of Taining town heard the news and came to barracks one after another to thank general Xie. However, general Xie had already set out. In the distance, there was a flag with the word "Xie" flying in the wind.
In order to repay general Xie's kindness, the people of Taining town changed the name of the village to "Xie Qiying" in memory. The name of the village has always been used.

agricultural development
Xieqiying town is a provincial science and technology demonstration town. Relying on science and technology and guided by market, it has made positive progress in structural adjustment. Among them, the town's green onion planting has initially embarked on the road of industrialization. There are 24 villages planting scallion in the town, and the planting area of scallion has reached 10300 mu. In 2001, the sales revenue of green onion planting in the town was 230 million yuan, and the profit was 80 million yuan. Planting green onion has become an effective way to increase the income of farmers in the town.
Adjusting measures to local conditions, demonstrating and guiding, and promoting agricultural structural adjustment. For structural adjustment, there is a view that "the bigger the ship is, the better the scale is". There is another view that "the smaller the ship is, the easier it is to adapt to market changes. However, we believe that the key to structural adjustment is to closely integrate with local conditions and give full play to its own advantages. Xuzhuang village has a tradition of planting green onion for many years, and has accumulated some planting management experience. In addition, green onion planting is a labor-intensive industry, and the market prospect is good. Therefore, the Party committee and government of the town will vigorously develop green onion planting as a breakthrough for the agricultural structure adjustment of the town. Xieqiying town Party committee and government set up a model, demonstration drive, making scallion planting in the town quickly set off a boom.
Respect the initiative spirit of farmers, encourage innovation, and strive to improve the output efficiency. The traditional planting mode of green onion is the combination of green onion and wheat. In the past many years, this planting mode has been imprisoning the ideas of xieqiying people. With the rapid development of market economy, the hardworking and intelligent people in Xuzhuang village of xieqiying town have carried out bold innovation, that is, interplanting some spring vegetables in the wheat ridge to harvest spring vegetables After the harvest, the melon was planted, and then the green onion was planted in the melon field, and then the wheat was Interplanted in the green onion ridge. After a year, the net income per mu was 2000-3000 yuan, excluding the cost. Benefit is a silent call. In only two years, the planting mode of "four crops a year" has been popularized in Xuzhuang village and radiated to surrounding villages. The town government paid close attention to this phenomenon. On the one hand, it organized agricultural technicians to summarize and improve this model. On the other hand, it organized representatives of the two committees of villages, cadres and masses of the whole town to visit Xuzhuang. Soon, this model was tried in many villages. All villages have created the mode of "three crops a year" in combination with the actual situation of all villages and farmers. Instead of "one size fits all", the government respects the will and initiative of the masses, and focuses on the introduction of fine varieties and the provision of technical information services. Due to the full mobilization of the enthusiasm of the masses, the planting of scallion has increased from the original village of Xuzhuang to 24 in 2009 The planting area of each village has expanded from several hundred mu to 10000 mu.
