Cuntan street, belonging to Jiangbei District of Chongqing, is located in the middle of Jiangbei District. It is adjacent to Tieshanping street in the East, Nanan District across the river in the south, Jiangbei City Central Business District and Wulidian street in the west, North New District and longta street in Yubei District, with a total area of 19.6 square kilometers.
In 1941, Cuntan street was under the jurisdiction of the 16th district of Chongqing. In March 1993, Cuntan Township and ilanxi Street merged to form Cuntan street. In 2011, Cuntan street had a total population of 44500, including 36400 urban residents. As of June 2020, Cuntan street has 8 communities and 1 administrative village under its jurisdiction.

History of construction
In 1941, it was subordinate to the 16th district of Chongqing. In 1944, the town was abandoned and extended. Both the ilanxi and Cuntan areas belonged to the 16th district of Chongqing.
In 1954, two streets of ilanxi and Cuntan were established.
In 1958, a small part of ilanxi street, Cuntan street and sandongqiao Street merged to form ilanxi street.
In September 1961, Bayi commune was established.
In 1962, the original section of sandongqiao street was designated as ilanxi street.
In the first half of 1982, Bayi commune was renamed Cuntan commune.
In April 1984, Cuntan commune was changed into Cuntan township.
In March 1993, Tan Township and ilanxi Street merged to form Cuntan street.
