Sifangtai District Sifangtai district is subordinate to Shuangyashan City, Heilongjiang Province. Historical evolution

The name of Sifangtai district comes from the name of mountain. Sifangtai mountain, located in the southwest of the district government, is called Sifangtai mountain because it has a flat top and four sides like Taiwan.

Originally under the jurisdiction of Jixian County, it was put under the jurisdiction of Shuangyashan Mining Area in July 1954.

In 1958, Sifangtai coal mine was established by Shuangyashan Mining Bureau.

In April 1959, it was called Sifangtai Economic Zone, under the jurisdiction of Shuangyashan City.

In 1961, it became the first branch of Sifangtai.

In June 1968, it was merged with Sifangtai coal mine and renamed Sifangtai mining area.
