Longcheng District, located between 120 ° 14 ′~ 120 ° 37 ′ E and 41 ° 26 ′~ 41 ° 42 ′ n, is the lower District of Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province. It is located in the west of Liaoning Province, surrounded by Shuangta District, bordering Chaoyang County in the northwest and southwest, and Beipiao City in the northeast.
As of 2013, Longcheng district has jurisdiction over 5 streets, 4 towns, 2 townships, 63 administrative villages and 14 communities. The total social area of the region is 641.45 square kilometers, and the total population of the region is 210000, including 130000 agricultural population, accounting for 72.2% of the total population of the region.
The main scenic spots in Longcheng District include Chaoyang bird fossil National Geopark, three pagodas of big cottage, Guangfa temple, wangbagai ruins, Yongchang Desheng temple, etc.
Historical evolution
The name of Longcheng district is inherited from the historical name of Chaoyang City - Longcheng. Chaoyang City in history was once known as "Longcheng" and "huanglongcheng". Therefore, when the district was built, it was named "Longcheng district", which is under the jurisdiction of Chaoyang City.
During the Han Dynasty, it belonged to Liucheng County of Liaoxi county. The county government is located at the Liucheng site in Chaoyang County.
In the Western Jin Dynasty, it belonged to Liucheng County, Changli County, Pingzhou.
During the period of the Sixteen States, it belonged to the former, later and Northern Yan states. Longcheng, the capital of Sanyan, is located in the ruins of Sanyan Longcheng in Chaoyang City.
During the Northern Wei Dynasty, it belonged to Longcheng County, Changli County, Yingzhou. Yingzhou County, Changli County and Longcheng county are all located in "Helong city", which is the old district of Chaoyang City.
In the Sui Dynasty, it belonged to Longcheng County of Yingzhou. During the kaihuang period, Longcheng county was changed into Longshan County and Liucheng county. Sui Yangdi abandoned the state and established Liucheng county.
During the Tang Dynasty, it was within the territory of the governor of Yingzhou. The northeast of the area is under the jurisdiction of Liucheng county (now Chaoyang City), and the southwest is under the jurisdiction of Chongzhou (now Longcheng Dapingfang town).
During the Liao Dynasty, it belonged to Xingzhong prefecture (formerly Zhangwu army in Bazhou). Today's jurisdiction is under the jurisdiction of Xingzhong County in the northeast and YONGBA County in Jianzhou County in the southwest.
During the Jin Dynasty, it was in the east of Beijing road. Today, the northeast area is under the jurisdiction of Xingzhong Prefecture, and the southwest area is under the jurisdiction of Jianzhou Prefecture.
During the Yuan Dynasty, it was in the east of Daning road. Today, the northeast area is under the jurisdiction of Xingzhong Prefecture, and the southwest area is under the jurisdiction of Jianzhou Prefecture.
During the Ming Dynasty, it belonged to Yingzhou Weidi. Today, the northeast of the area is Liying Prefecture qiantunwei (now Chaoyang City), and the southwest is Liying Prefecture youtunwei (now Longcheng District Dapingfang town). During the Yongle period, all of them were abandoned into the Mongolian Duoyan department.
During the Qing Dynasty, it was under the jurisdiction of Tumet right wing banner and karaqin left wing banner of zhuosootu League. During the reign of Qianlong, there were three pagoda halls, and then Chaoyang County.
During the period of the Republic of China, it was located in Chaoyang County, Rehe province.
In 1958, it belongs to Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province.
In 1964, Chaoyang City was abolished and merged into Chaoyang County. Chaoyang District is set up, and the special office is located in Chaoyang County.
In 1970, Chaoyang District was renamed Chaoyang District. On August 30, 1979, the State Council approved the re establishment of Chaoyang City, which was officially established in June 1980. Chaoyang City is led by Chaoyang District.
In January 1980, the Mashan sub district office and Banlashan sub district office of Chaoyang City were established. The blacksmith furnace production team was assigned to qidaoquanzi commune, the new wasteland production team and sentry team to suburban commune, the Daxishan production team to the new Mashan sub district office, and the Banlashan production team to the new Banlashan sub district office.
On June 30, 1984, the State Council approved the restoration and upgrading of Chaoyang City to a prefecture level city under the jurisdiction of the province, and the establishment of Shuangta and Longcheng districts. The four townships of changbaoyingzi, xidayingzi, talagoo and bianzhangzi in Chaoyang County were assigned to Chaoyang City and merged with the former qidaoquanzi township of Chaoyang City to establish Longcheng district.
In September 1984, Longcheng district was officially established; meanwhile, xidayingzi Township and qidaoquanzi Township were abolished and xidayingzi town and qidaoquanzi town were established. There are three townships: Zixiang and changbaoyingzi.
In 1992, Chaoyang economic and Technological Development Zone was established, with some administrative areas of Longcheng district as the jurisdiction of Chaoyang economic and Technological Development Zone.
From January to March 1993, Chaoyang municipal government approved that talagoo Township and changbaoyingzi township of Longcheng district should be put under the jurisdiction of Shuangta district; Guojia, bochi, Dongshan and lalatun villages of xidayingzi town of Longcheng district should be put under the jurisdiction of Chaoyang County; zhaoduba town of Chaoyang County, west of Shencheng road of Shuangta district (including the seat of Longcheng district government) and Xinhua street should be put under the jurisdiction of Longcheng district Dongsanjia village in mengke Township, Shuangta district and wujiawa village in balibao township are under the jurisdiction of qidaoquanzi Town, Longcheng district.
At the end of 2002, Chaoyang municipal government approved that qidaoquanzi sub district office should be abolished and qidaoquanzi town should be set up; talagoo town and changbaoyingzi Township in Shuangta district should be put under Longcheng district; wujiawa South Village and North Village, qidaoquanzi South Village and North Village, xiaheshou village and dongsanjia village in qidaoquanzi town should be put under the management of Chaoyang economic and Technological Development Zone.
In May 2003, Chaoyang municipal government approved the establishment of Chaoyang Longcheng Industrial Park.
On April 11, 2006, the State Council approved the adjustment of some administrative divisions of Chaoyang City in Liaoning Province (Guo Han No. 9): balibao village, zhannan street, Shuangta District, Chaoyang City, Dapingfang town and Lianhe township of Chaoyang County were put under the jurisdiction of Longcheng District, Chaoyang City. Chaoyang municipal government approved it in November 2005, and formally implemented the following adjustments in March 2006: talagoo town and changbaoyingzi Township were transferred back to Shuangta district; balibao village and Heping community of zhannan street, Shuangta District, Dapingfang town and Lianhe township of Chaoyang County were transferred to Longcheng district; the present site of Longcheng district government and Longcheng district court was transferred from Shuangta district to Longquan community of Longcheng district; and Longcheng district was transferred to Longquan community of Longcheng district (Chaoyang economic and Technological Development Zone) add Longquan sub district office.

The topography of Longcheng district belongs to the low mountain and hilly area in western Liaoning Province. The geographical structure is relatively complex. There are many low mountains, hills and terraces in Longcheng District, which naturally form high in the West and low in the East. The mountains tend to be east-west-north-south. The Western Hills are mostly distributed in the periphery of the low mountains, with an altitude of less than 300 meters. Most of the hills are small mountain plains with deep soil layer.
Besides Daling River, there are two seasonal rivers (Guojia River in xidayingzi and Qinggou River in bianzhangzi) flowing into Daling River to form flood plain and low terrace. The hills in the West are mostly distributed in the periphery of low mountains, with an altitude below 347 meters. Among the hills are small mountain plains with deep soil layer. Fenghuang mountain, Qilin mountain, Yingzuishan mountain, Mashan mountain and Langshan Mountain form a natural barrier. Daling River and shijiazi river cross the area in the shape of "t". In the whole region, barren hills, gullies and tidal flats account for about 60%, and cultivated land accounts for about 30%, which can be roughly divided into "Six Mountains and half water, three fields, and half village roads in the middle".
Hydrological condition
Daling River is the largest river in Longcheng district. It flows through two sections of the District, with a total length of 19.5km. The river body is mostly crooked, with a riverbed width of 200-700m and a long flowing part of 50-70m. The average flow is 10-40 m3 / s, and the total annual flow is 380.4 billion m3; the minimum flow rate is 0.24 M / s, and the maximum flow rate is 3.01 M / S; the freezing period is about early December, the thickness of frozen layer is 0.49 m, and the thawing period is about mid March.
Climatic characteristics
Longcheng district has a warm temperate arid monsoon continental climate. The characteristics are: four distinct seasons, more drought in spring, less rain, more wind, large evaporation; hot summer, high light intensity, uneven distribution of rain and large angle difference, rainfall is mainly concentrated in July and August; less rain in autumn, large temperature difference between day and night; less snow in winter, dry and cold. The average annual precipitation is 481 mm, the average frost free period is 158 days, the average sunshine hours is 2900 hours, and the average wind force is 2-3. The annual average temperature is 8.4 ℃, the annual extreme maximum temperature is 40.6 ℃ (July 23, 1955), and the annual extreme minimum temperature is - 31.1 ℃ (January 16, 1953). The difference between the coldest month and the hottest month is 35.2 ℃. Affected by the terrain factors, the air temperature in each area is slightly different. The annual average precipitation is 486.1 mm, the highest is 685.9 mm (1969), and the lowest is 259.6 mm (1982). The distribution of annual precipitation is very uneven.

Mineral resources
Longcheng district is rich in mineral resources. 18 kinds of mineral resources such as coal, oil shale, limestone, bentonite, silica, perlite and basalt have been found in the whole area, among which limestone, bentonite and basalt are rich in reserves and of great development value. The reserves of silica and bentonite in Lianhe township of Longquan District exceed 200 million tons and 50 million tons respectively.
water resource
The groundwater resources in Longcheng district are poor, mainly including Quaternary pore water and bedrock fissure water. The former is widely stored in the river valley with abundant water and good water quality, and is the main water source for drinking and farmland irrigation. The latter is not widely distributed, and the amount of water is small. The most abundant groundwater is on the right bank of Daling River and both banks of shijiazi river.
