Pingshan County Pingshan County, Hebei Province, Shijiazhuang city. It is located in the west of Hebei Province, the eastern foot of Taihang and the upper reaches of Hutuo River, covering an area of 2648 square kilometers. As of 2020, Pingshan County has 12 towns and 11 townships, with a total population of 502981 registered residence (2018). It is located in the transition zone between Fuping uplift and Jingxing sag in the northeast of Taihang uplift belt of Xinhua Xia system, and the terrain gradually increases from east to northwest. The river in the territory belongs to Ziya River system of Haihe River Basin, belonging to warm temperate semi humid monsoon continental climate.
In the spring and Autumn period, it was the place of Pu in Jin Dynasty, and in the Warring States period, it was the place of fan Wu in Zhao Dynasty. Puwu county was established in the Western Han Dynasty, Fangshan County in the Sui Dynasty, and Pingshan County in the first year of the Tang Dynasty. Pingshan County is the birthplace of Xibaipo, the holy land of China's revolution, the birthplace of the two necessities, the founding of the people's Government of North China in Pingshan County, the coming of new China, the national tourism demonstration area, the national model city of double support, the revolutionary cultural relics protection and utilization area counties, the open counties around Beijing and Tianjin, the Bohai Sea, and the small hydropower pilot counties in China. On September 29, 2018, the Hebei provincial government approved Pingshan County to withdraw from the poverty-stricken county sequence.
In 2018, the GDP of Pingshan County was 2189611 million yuan, an increase of 5.3% over 2017. Among them, the added value of the primary industry is 1523.9 million yuan, the added value of the secondary industry is 11249.44 million yuan, and the added value of the tertiary industry is 9122.77 million yuan. The ratio of the three industries is 7.0:51.3:41.7.
Historical evolution
Pingshan County has a long history. According to the Neolithic Yangshao cultural sites found in zhongjiabi, Tianxing, mijiagou, shangjiawan, Hanzhuang, guosu, xiyanxing and Xirong villages, human activities existed on both sides of the Hutuo River in the county in the late primitive society.
In the 17th century BC, Qi, the ancestor of Shang Dynasty, was born here.
The spring and Autumn period belongs to Xianyu state.
During the Warring States period, it belonged to the states of Zhongshan and Zhao.

In the Western Han Dynasty, puwu county was set up and puwu county was administrated. It went through the Eastern Han Dynasty to the Wei and Jin Dynasties.
In 596, the 16th year of kaihuang reign of Sui Dynasty, the county of puwu was established as Fangshan County, and its governing place was located in the former site of the present county.
In 627, puwu county was merged into Jingxing county. In the first year of Zhide (756), Fangshan County was changed into Pingshan County. In 1073, Jingxing county was merged into Pingshan County and Huolu county. Eight years later, Jingxing county was established.
After the song, yuan, Ming, Qing and the Republic of China, the location of the county has not changed.
During the Anti Japanese War, the Anti Japanese democratic government of Pingshan County, the political power organization of the Communist Party of China, was located in hongzidian village, jingguyue town.
In August 1940, Jianping County (commonly known as "dongjianping") was established in the area east of Yehe River in Pingshan, which is connected with Jingxing, Huolu and Zhengding.
In August 1942, jiaotanzhuang, hehehekou and Yingli in the west of Pingshan merged with parts of Yuxian County in Shanxi Province to form Yuping county. The county government was set up in Kangzhuang village.
In October 1945, Jianping County was abolished. Jianping County is located in the west of Pingshan County (commonly known as "xijianping"), and Pingshan County is still located in the East.
After the founding of the people's Republic of China, there are Pingshan and Jianping counties in this area, which belong to Shijiazhuang special area.
In September 1958, Jianping County was abolished, and its administrative region was merged into Pingshan County, which belongs to Shijiazhuang district.
On May 3, 1960, Shijiazhuang district was abolished, and Pingshan County belonged to Shijiazhuang city.
On May 23, 1961, Shijiazhuang district was restored, and Pingshan still belonged to it.
On November 22, 1967, Shijiazhuang special area was renamed Shijiazhuang area, still under the jurisdiction of Pingshan County.
On July 1, 1993, Shijiazhuang area and Shijiazhuang City merged into Shijiazhuang City, and Pingshan was a county of Shijiazhuang city.

Pingshan County is located in the west of Hebei Province, the eastern foot of the middle section of Taihang Mountain. Located between 38 ° 09 ′~ 38 ° 45 ′ N and 113 ° 31 ′~ 114 ° 15 ′ e, it borders Luquan District in the East, Wutai County of Xinzhou City and Yu County of Yangquan City in Shanxi Province in the West. The terrain gradually increases from east to northwest. The altitude rises from 120m in dongshuinian village, the lowest point, to 2281m in Tuoliang, the highest point, with a relative elevation difference of 2161m.

Tuoliang is the fifth peak in Hebei Province and the commanding height of Shijiazhuang. There are 16 peaks above 1000 meters above sea level, including Tiangui mountain, Wangmu Guanshan, Wacha mountain, chengchengliang mountain, yinniuchi mountain, shilizhai mountain, Gushan Mountain, Ma'anshan mountain, Wuyue mountain, maozhaijian mountain, xiangxuezhai mountain, hongshinao mountain, Matou Jianshan mountain, junpuling mountain and Lintao mountain.
Subalpine is located in the Tuoliang area of qiandadi and zhongtaishan village of hehehekou Township, with an altitude of 2000-2281 meters, high and gentle terrain, covering an area of 5000 mu. Zhongshan District, including hehehekou, Yingli, shangguanyintang, Xiakou, Beiye and some other villages, has an altitude of 1000-2000 meters and an area of 521000 mu. The low mountain area with an altitude of 500-1000 meters is located in jiaotanzhuang, mengjiazhuang, yangjiaqiao, xiaojue and other towns, covering an area of 1.402 million mu.
Below 500 meters, there are hilly areas and piedmont plain areas, including xiahuai, Gangnan, Guyue, Xibaipo and other townships and towns along the main stream of Hutuo River, and Zhaibei, Sujiazhuang, dongwangpo, Nandian, shangsanji, Lianghe, xidawu, Wentang, donghuishe, mengxianbi, Pingshan and other townships and towns. The hilly area is 1.048 million mu, and the plain area is 996000 mu.

Pingshan County has a soil area of 264800 hectares, of which 30600 hectares are cultivated land, 180600 hectares are suitable for forest and pasture, and 30700 hectares are water area. There are 4 soil types, 11 soil subclasses, 37 soil genera and 87 soil species. Subalpine meadow soil is mainly distributed in the South camel ridge above 1900 meters above sea level, accounting for 0.1% of the area of Pingshan County.
Brown soil is mainly distributed in the Northwest Mountain Area of 1000-1300 meters, accounting for about 8.1%; cinnamon soil is mainly distributed in the low mountains and hills below 800 meters, accounting for about 88.8%; meadow soil is distributed in the river terraces about 200 meters, accounting for about 3%. According to the irrigation situation, the cultivated land is divided into water land and dry land. The effective irrigation area of Pingshan County is 25300 hectares, and the irrigation area of drought and flood is 16700 hectares.

The rivers in Pingshan County belong to Ziya River system of Haihe River Basin. There are 79 rivers over 5 square kilometers in the county, including 1 second-class River, 19 third-class rivers, 49 fourth class rivers and 10 fifth class rivers. The total length of the river is 1315.6km, the catchment area is 2199.7km2, and the longitudinal slope ratio of the river is 10-50%. There are 2 large reservoirs, 2 medium reservoirs and 63 small reservoirs. Among them, Gangnan Reservoir and Huangbizhuang reservoir are national large (I) type water conservancy projects.
Hutuo River runs through the East and the west, and both sides are tributaries. Its water potential is seasonal. At ordinary times, the base flow is very little, or even dry and no flow. In flood season, the flood breaks out and the valley overflows.
Hutuo River originates from Gushan, Fanshi County, Shanxi Province. Yanzhuang, Yuxian County flows into Pingshan. It flows through yangjiaqiao, xiaojue, xiahuai, Gangnan, xidawu, Lianghe and Gangnan Reservoir. It flows into Huangbizhuang reservoir. The total length of Hutuo River is 110km, and the width of riverbed is 300-500m. The tributaries are Haotian River, Xianyi River, Wendu River, Guyue River, guosu River, Wentang River, Nandian River, Ganqiu River, Yehe River, etc., most of which are north-south. The annual runoff of the river is about 1.8 billion cubic meters, and the freezing period is about 70 days.

Pingshan County has a warm temperate semi humid monsoon continental climate. Due to the great difference of terrain, three-dimensional climate, four distinct seasons, sufficient light, uneven spatial and temporal distribution of precipitation, hot summer and cold winter, and large temperature difference. There are 55 days in spring, 105 days in summer, 60 days in autumn and 145 days in winter. There is little rain and drought in spring, hot and rainy in summer, high and cool in autumn, freezing and cold in winter. The annual average temperature is 12.7 ℃. The annual extreme high temperature is 40.8 ℃ and the annual extreme low temperature is - 16.4 ℃. The average temperature is - 3 ℃ in January and 26 ℃ in July.
The annual average wind speed is 2 m / s. The annual average precipitation is 530-690mm, and the precipitation from July to August is the most, accounting for 65-70% of the whole year. The annual average total solar radiation is 131-136 kcal / cm2, the annual sunshine hours are 2600-2750 hours, and the sunshine percentage is about 60%. The growing period of crops is 170 days, the frost free period is 185 days, the longest around the county is about 200 days, and the shortest near Tuoliang is less than 100 days.
