Jinfeng District, founded on November 1, 2002, is one of the municipal districts of Yinchuan City, the capital of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. It is located in the middle of the city, with tanglaiqu in the East, Baotou Lanzhou Railway in the west, Yongning County in the South and Helan County in the north. It governs Liangtian and Fengdeng towns, and five streets including Shanghai West Road, Beijing Middle Road, Changcheng Middle Road, Mancheng North Street and Huanghe East Road. The District People's government is located in Huanghe East Road. The total area is 353 square kilometers, including 22000 mu of lakes and wetlands. Yinchuan municipal Party committee, government, people's Congress, CPPCC and other organs are located in the administrative center of the city to the north of Jinfeng District People's Square.

In 2018, Jinfeng District achieved a GDP of 24.3 billion yuan and a local general public budget revenue of 710 million yuan.
Historical evolution
The Shuidonggou site in Hengcheng and the Neolithic cultural sites in zhenbeibao and Nuanquan are the earliest settlements in Yinchuan area.
On October 19, 2002, the State Council (Guo Han [2002] No. 95) approved to adjust the administrative division of Yinchuan City: to abolish the urban area, new urban area and suburb of Yinchuan City, and to establish Xixia District, Jinfeng district and Xingqing District of Yinchuan city. Jinfeng district has jurisdiction over two sub district offices of Tiedong and xinchengdong street in the former new urban area, Liangtian Township, Xingyuan Township, Yinxin Township in the former suburb and Fengdeng Township in Helan county. The District People's government is located in xinxiadong road.
On November 1, 2002, Jinfeng district was officially established.
In August 2003, Jinfeng District abolished Liangtian Township, Yinxin Township, Xingyuan Township and Fengdeng Township, and established Liangtian town and Fengdeng town (among them, Fengdeng Township and 21 villager groups of former Yinxin Township merged to establish Fengdeng town); integrated the former Tiedong and Dongjie streets and Xiyuan, Xinyuan and Shenzhou offices of high tech Zone, and re established Tiedong, Dongjie, Changcheng Middle Road, Beijing Middle Road and Shanghai West Road. After the adjustment, Jinfeng district has jurisdiction over Tiedong, Dongjie, Shanghai West Road, Beijing Middle Road, Changcheng Middle Road, and Fengdeng and Liangtian towns.
On July 26, 2008, Dongjie street was officially renamed Mancheng Beijie street, and Tiedong street was officially renamed Huanghe Donglu street. At the same time, pingfuqiao village in Fengdeng town is under the jurisdiction of Mancheng North Street, zhuanqu village, Weijiaqiao village and Yingnan village in Liangtian town are under the jurisdiction of Huanghe East Road Street, and wulitai village and Gaoqiao village in Liangtian town are under the jurisdiction of Changcheng middle road street.
